Meth-Using Mother Of 7 Gets Sterilized After Federal Judge Recommendation

A mother of seven who has been battling drug addiction decided to get sterilized after a judge suggested that he might be easier on her sentencing for fraud charges if she underwent the procedure.

According to The Washington Post, 34-year-old Summer Thyme Creel, a mother from Oklahoma, pleaded guilty for making and cashing a counterfeit check last year. When Creel failed to attend her sentencing in June, US District Judge Stephen Friot looked at her pre-sentence report and noted she was a crack cocaine and methamphetamine user.

And that’s when Friot decided to make the unprecedented suggestion. In his order, Friot mentioned that Creel had given up the right to six of her seven children and that he believed she had used drugs while pregnant with her children.

Friot concluded his order by saying that at the next sentencing, “Ms. Creel may, if (and only if) she chooses to do so, present medical evidence to the court establishing

A brave mother of four died while shielding her children from bullets during Sunday’s massacre at the First Baptist Church in Sutherland Springs, Texas. When the gunfire erupted Joann Ward reportedly pushed one of her daughters, Rihanna Garza, 9, to the ground to shield her from harm. She also used her body to block bullets from hurting her three younger children, according to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. She saved two of her children’s lives. Rihanna was barely injured, according to the New York Post. Ryland Ward, 5, was shot four times and has undergone surgery. He is currently in critical condition. Tragically, Brooke Ward, 5 and Emily Garza, 7, died in addition to their fearless mother.

Bartender Arrested For Serving Cocaine Using Special ‘Drinks Menu’

A bar manager has been arrested for serving special drinks laced with drugs.

As the New York Post shares, Justyna Gorska of London has been incarcerated for 28 months for serving guests cocaine whenever they ordered a certain cocktail at Dion Bar.

The 34-year-old bar manager was accused of serving these “special” drinks between June 20 and August 16 on six different occasions. The way she would make these transactions involved the bar menu. On one occasion, the bar manager supplied two wraps of cocaine, charging $66 per wrap, as she served customers drinks. She would bring them a menu and then instructed them to place their money inside the menu. She would then remove the menu and returned with the drugs.

She repeated this at least five more times.

“We know the vast majority of licensed premises within the Square Mile are owned and operated by fully law-abiding staff and

Woman Accused Of Using Craigslist Ad As A Murder-For-Hire

An Oklahoma woman is accused of posting an ad on Craigslist to pay someone to travel to Israel and poison her ex with ricin, according to a Department of Justice release. Danielle Dana Layman, 37, allegedly posted an ad for a “10 day gig overseas” and according to an arrest affidavit obtained by ABC, the Craigslist ad read, “For production overseas, looking for talent, 30-45 years old. Doesn’t have to be a professional actor. Required: Creative, outgoing and friendly, positive personality, boldness and bravery (some stunts may seem risky, although they are completely safe).”

A person responded to the ad and met Layman at a coffee shop in May. At the cafe, Layman allegedly explained the poisoning plot in a PowerPoint presentation called “Operation Insecticide,” according to the affidavit. Layman was allegedly offering $4,000 plus expenses to the person who could locate Layman’s taxi driver ex-husband in Israel and

Inmates Are Using Drones To Smuggle Drugs, Porn, and Phones Into Prison

Inmates in prisons across the country are using drones to smuggle contraband into prison, reports USA Today. I have to admit that my first reaction was that this is kind of brilliant, but experts say that this vulnerability could make prisons less safe.

A Freedom of Information Act request by USA Today uncovered more than a dozen attempts to bring contraband such as drugs, porn, and phones into federal prisons via drones—and experts warn that this could be a potential security risk, since drones could be used to transport more dangerous items, such as firearms.

For now, however, more mundane comforts are being smuggled. One inmate at a high-security federal prison in California worked with a friend outside the prison to smuggle in two cell phones via drone—a violation that wasn’t discovered for five months.

“Civilian drones are becoming more inexpensive, easy to operate and powerful. A growing number

Police Fire On Rappers Using Prop Guns In Music Video Shoot

Police opened fire on a rap group who were using fake guns as props during a video shoot in Detroit on Saturday.

According to MLive, two men sitting in a black Jeep with no doors pointed their prop guns at officers during a music video shoot. Police believed the men were robbing the occupants of an Aston Martin, a British sports car. The people in the Aston Martin turned out to be actors.

Detroit Police Sgt. Adam Madera told MLive that the bullets didn’t hit anyone. The two rappers were arrested for illegal possession of “facsimile firearm” and their names have not been identified. Madera said he didn’t know why the guns were pointed at police. He said that anyone using imitation firearms must seek permits from the city and notify police at the precinct in which they plan to film.

IRS using private debt collectors: What that means and how not to get scammed

The Internal Revenue Service is turning to private debt collectors to try and recoup overdue money. The result is a new scam in which people are receiving bogus messages threatening them with arrest if they don’t pay up.

IRS using private collectors

The IRS program with four private-sector collection agencies started last month. The agencies are going after the toughest debt – generally accounts that are not being worked by federal employees but have owed money for several years. Taxpayers assigned to the private firms have had “multiple contacts” from the IRS in previous years, the agency said.

Taxpayers are notified by letter before their account is turned over to a private firm. Then, one of the four companies collecting the debt – CBE Group of Cedar Falls, Iowa; Conserve of Fairport, New York; Performant of Livermore, California; or Pioneer of Horseheads, New York – will send their own letter. The private firms
