Man Posed As Uber Driver And Sexually Assaulted Woman On University Campus

A man posing as an Uber driver allegedly picked up a woman and sexually assaulted her on American University’s campus early Sunday. The 21-year-old victim and her male friend told police they saw an Uber sticker on a car, which they flagged down for a ride near Dupont Circle in Washington, DC, according to NBC Washington.

The driver, El Houcine Jourhdaly, 36, of Springfield, Virginia, told the two he could drive them somewhere, and they both got in the car, according to police. But not long after, Jourhdaly pulled over and demanded the woman get in the front seat. She complied.

When Jourhdaly drove the two to their requested destination, the driver yelled at the victim’s friend, ordering him to get out. Police said he got out of the car and attempted to help his friend out of the front seat, but Jourhdaly sped off.

The woman’s friend then called her phone.

Man Who Killed University Of Utah Student Tried To Kill Other Man With Crossbow But Ended Up Slitting His Throat

The violent 24-year-old felon who killed a University Of Utah Student during an unsuccessful carjacking killed another victim days earlier, according to The Salt Lake Tribune. After being arrested for the October 30 murder of Chenwei Guo in Salt Lake City, killer Austin Boutain confessed to the October 27 murder of Mitchell Bradford Ingle in Colorado. Ingle was staying in a trailer at the Clear Creek RV Park in Golden, Colorado when he met Boutain and his wife Kathleen, who were camping under a bridge nearby.

Ingle had previously bought marijuana off Austin Boutain, and on the night of his murder was smoking pot and drinking stolen whiskey with the couple. According to The Denver Post, Boutain was angered after Ingle made sexually charged comments towards his wife. After Ingle went to bed, the couple to decide to kill him and steal his belongings.

Everything We Know About The Suspect In Missing Temple University Student’s Death

A Pennsylvania man was charged in the death of a Temple University student on Sunday, after her remains were found on property belonging to the suspect’s grandmother, People magazine reports.

Joshua Hupperterz, 29, was charged with the murder of Jenna Burleigh, 22, who had transferred to Temple only the week before. Hupperterz and Burleigh were seen last leaving a bar together at 2 am on Thursday, police said.

Hupperterz, a former Temple student, admitted to “elements of the crime,” said Philadelphia Police Captain John Ryan to reporters on Saturday night, The Philadelphia Inquirer reported.

During an interview, police noticed scratches on his face and cuts on his hands, which he claimed to have obtained after he injured his hand on a broken bowl.

Police allegedly found blood—as well as copious amounts of drugs and cash—in Hupperterz’s Philadelphia home, where police claim Burleigh was killed before her body was transported to the home

A Yale University dean who was placed on leave in May over offensive reviews she posted on Yelp resigned on Tuesday.

Screenshots of June Chu’s Yelp reviews surfaced last month. In one review, she called movie theater workers “barely educated morons,” according to the Hartford Courant. In a review of a local Japanese steakhouse, she wrote: “If you are white trash, this is the perfect night out for you!” according to the Associated Press.

FBI Investigating University Stabbing Murder As Potential Hate Crime

The FBI is investigating if a University of Maryland visiting student committed a hate crime.

According to NBC Washington, 22-year-old University of Maryland student Sean Christopher Urbanski has been charged with first and second-degree murder in addition to  first-degree assault in the death of 23-year-old Richard Collins III.

Collins was at a bus stop with two friends near the University of Maryland’s Montgomery Hall on Regents Drive about 3 a.m. Saturday, police said.

Collins was waiting for the Bowie State University’s shuttle bus with friends when they realized the shuttle bus had stopped running for the night. The three called an Uber and were waiting for its arrival when they heard Urbanski screaming nearby. Urbanski approached them.
