Full Trailer For Upcoming ‘My Friend Dahmer’ Film Criticized For Romanticizing Serial Killing

Earlier this week, a full trailer for the upcoming film My Friend Dahmer was released. The movie, based on the graphic novel by John “Derf” Backderf, tells the story of the socially awkward teenager who would grow up to become one of America’s most notorious serial killers.

Backderf’s book was based on his real life experiences of befriending the young outcast with a penchant for collecting dead animals. While the graphic novel concludes with Backderf receiving a call about Dahmer’s killings (many years after losing touch with his friend) the film will end with Dahmer’s first murder.

Alex Lynch, known for more wholesome roles on the Disney Channel, will play Dahmer in the upcoming movie: “I think you’re not going to be able to see the teen heartthrob in this role,” explains Backderf. “It’s not a slasher film – it’s a very melancholy tale full of regret and remorse that shows this young kid

Netflix’s First Trailer For ‘American Vandal’ Is Here And It’s The True Crime Satire We Needed

Netflix has been at the forefront of what is being called a true crime revival with compelling docu-series ranging from avant-garde to straight-forward and investigatve. Now, the series is taking the genre in a totally different direction with an upcoming satirical program, titled American Vandal. The new show just released its first full trailer. Check it out, below:

The two-minute trailer is an almost perfect beat-by-beat parody of shows like Making A Murderer and The Keepers, this time depiciting the fallout of a local vandalism incident (involving crudely drawn penises) rather than a police coverup.

“This is just not the way I thought things were going to go. I was going to graduate high school, get my degree in engineering,” says high school senior Dylan Maxwell (Jimmy Tatro) in the trailer’s voiceover. “I know I didn’t do it.”

According to The Verge, the series is a collaboration between Dan Perrault, the brains behind ScreenJunkies’ Honest Trailers series, and Tony

In 1980’s Miami: A Morgue Rented A Burger King Trailer To Manage The Dead Bodies

Oxygen Digital is kicking off its first-ever themed month in June with Crimes of the ’80s. We’ll explore big trends (drug cartels), sensational cases (“The Preppy Killer”), the decade’s most lethal and infamous serial killers (The Night Stalker, The Grim Sleeper) and more.

In the 1980’s drug dealers competed for Miami’s wholesale markets. The increasing violence was linked to the Medellin Cartel consolidating its control of the drug business. Gigantic smuggling rings arose in South Florida. In 1982, $100 million worth of cocaine was seized from a Miami International Airport hanger. As a response, President Reagan created the South Florida Drug Task Force and assigned then-Vice President George H. W. Bush to lead a coordinated federal offensive that same year. Miami became known as the “Drug Capital of the World” in the ’80s due to turf wars between drug lords.
