Teen Kidnapped At Birth Pleads For Leniency On Kidnapper’s Behalf: ‘She Took Care Of Me Very Well’

A kidnapping victim is making a plea on behalf of her abductor. According to the New York Daily News, 18-year-old Alexis Manigo was kidnapped as an infant from University Medical Center in July 1998 in Jacksonville, Florida. Gloria Williams dressed up as a nurse and stole the baby. She then raised her for 18 years.

Manigo (named Kamiyah Mobley when she was born) says that she forgives Williams. “I am certain that she’s going to get time, but I’m hoping not very, very long,” Manigo said. “I think they should be lenient. She took care of me very well.”

Williams gave Manigo a new identity but the victim says she was treated well. “Don’t get me wrong, I do feel like it was wrong. But we talked about it and I can understand at the time what was going on,” Manigo told the Daily Mail. “I sympathize with her. I’m not mad at her.”

A California man accused of killing his wife’s much younger boyfriend in August 2014 pled guilty to the murder charges, The Modesto Bee reported.

Russell Kee, 47, pleaded guilty on Dec. 22 to the second-degree murder of Kyle Hoffman, 24, and was sentenced to 18 years to life in state prison.

“This case is a tragedy for everyone involved,” says Kee’s attorney, Douglas Maner, to People magazine. “Russell is looking forward to moving on with his life and do the best he can and get paroled at the earliest possible opportunity. He will be eligible for parole in 15 years.”

Teen Accused Of Killing Grandmother And Burying Her In A Shallow Grave Pleads Not Guilty

A Florida teen has pleaded not guilty to killing his grandmother and dumping her in a shallow grave. According to First Coast News, Logan Mott of Neptune Beach, Florida is accused of killing his grandmother, 53-year-old Kristina French.

On November 22, both 15-year-old Mott and the grandmother were reported missing by family after noticing that their vacation home had been ransacked. Shortly after, authorities unearthed the body of French. They believe she had died from a gunshot wound but her body also showed signs of stab wounds.

Authorities then found the teen trying to leave the country. He was detained by U.S. Customs and Border Protection for trying to cross into Canada.

He had three guns and a knife covered in what looked like blood on him at the time.

Mott has been charged with murder and has pleaded not guilty.

Woman Pleads Guilty to Hiding Her Dead Babies In Trash Bags Under A House

A North Carolina woman has pled guilty to hiding two of her infants in trash bags underneath her mother’s home.  As News and Observer reports, 41-year-old Bridgette Morgan Smith pled guilty for failing to report a death.

Back in 2016, the remains were found when a relative, James Morgan, found two black trash bags under the house while doing cable work. Per the search warrant, he described the contents of the bags as “squishy.” When he looked inside one bag, he “recognized that it contained remains of something once living.”

Authorities found the remains of two infants. They were wrapped in separate trash bags, with towels around the remains.

Smith’s mother told authorities that her daughter battled a drug addiction her entire life, including meth and cocaine. She believes that Smith had been pregnant 10 times, although she could only account for three children. According to her, Smith would do things like abandon her newborn

Man Pleads Guilty To Raping His 63-Year-Old Mother: ‘I Blacked Out’

On Tuesday, an Ohio man pleaded guilty on charges that he raped his 63-year-old mother, but he said he had no memory of the incident and wondered if he had been drugged before the attack, the LA Times reported.

The Cincinnati man, 46, signed a plea deal and then appeared to take it back in court.

“What is your plea to count 1, the offense of felonious assault … guilty or not guilty?” said Hamilton County Common Pleas Court Judge Charles Kubicki, according to USA Today.

“Not guilty. I take my plea back. I want to go to trial with this,” he said. “It’s all bogus and lies.”

The man spoke with his defense attorney, Edward Keller, for a few minutes and then pleaded guilty to charges of rape, felonious assault and kidnapping. In exchange for his guilty plea on these charges, prosecutors dropped his charges of attempted rape and abduction.

The attack, which

Man Pleads Guilty To Murdering Mom Of Three He Met Online, Dismembering Her Body

The man who murdered and dismembered a Seattle mother of three and dumped her body parts in garbage bags pleaded guilty Monday to first-degree murder. John Robert Charlton, 38, still faces sentencing for the murder of 40-year-old Ingrid Lyne in April of 2016. Prosecutors say they intend to recommend the maximum prison sentence of 27 years and nine months, according to The Seattle Times.

Charlton and Lyne met online and had been dating for a month before she was reported missing by her former partner, after he dropped off their three daughters, who were ages 12, 10 and 7 at the time of her murder. While searching her home, Seattle detectives found bits of human flesh and dried blood in her bathtub, as well as a 15-inch pruning and an empty box of plastic garbage bags, according to FOX News.

The same day Lyne was reported missing, body

Fyre Festival Organizer Pleads Not Guilty To Fraud Charges After Disturbing Email Leaks

Early in the summer, the Fyre Festival made headlines as reports from the event showed the grave conditions guests were faced with, contrasting sharply with the promises of luxury and opulence offered by the organizers. Now, Billy McFarland, the festival’s organizer often blamed for the event’s total failure, is pleading not guilty to charges of wire fraud and making false statements to a bank in Manhattan federal court.

The Fyre Festival used an influencer marketing strategy that appealed to the wealthy by showing off extravagent ammenities and a lineup of big-name musical acts.

The festival fell apart as guests arrived on the Bahamian island, with all of the performers and the caterer pulling out. Attendees were met with incredibly poor conditions, including a lack of food, roving stray dogs, and unsanitary tents — contrasting sharply with the images of models on jetskis

Man Pleads Guilty To Shaking Girlfriend’s 4-Month-Old Daughter To Death: ‘The Baby Became Quiet’

A Michigan man has pled guilty for killing his girlfriend’s 4-month-old daughter.

According to MLive46-year-old Richard P. Watson pled guilty on Tuesday to second-degree murder and first-degree child abuse. In exchange for this plea, felony murder charges against him were dropped.

Evelyn Patricia Legacy was 4 months old when she died on August 14, 2015 at C.S. Motts Children’s Hospital in Ann Arbor, Michigan.

Watson told authorities that he caused the injures because she was crying. “When he went in to check on her, she was fussy and crying, and while trying to quiet her, he said he snapped and began shaking the baby in the crib,” shared Midland Police Detective Ryan Duynslager in the affidavit. “He said he did this for about one minute, at which time the baby became quiet.”

Later that morning, Watson and the mother had trouble waking the child. They took Evelyn to IKEA and found her unresponsive. Emergency responders said

Man Pleads Guilty To 1993 Killing After New Evidence Re-Opens Cold Case

A Florida man has pleaded guilty on Tuesday for a 1993 murder, and police are crediting the Oxygen show “Cold Justice” for the closure on the cold case.

Angelo E. Ruth, 61, was sentenced to 11 years in prison for the death of Mattie Henry, 40, according to WINK News. Henry’s half-naked body was found in September 1993 near a recreational center. She suffered a gunshot wound to her head.

Fort Myers police said “Cold Justice” helped renew leads in the case. The forensic evidence and witness statements that the show brought out led to Ruth’s arrest in 2016.

Two years before Henry’s murder, Ruth took out a fraudulent life insurance policy on her, according to an ABC affiliate. Investigators with the show helped police confirm that Ruth forged Henry’s signature on the $100,000 life insurance policy, according to the Root. Then, publicity from the show allowed key witnesses to come forward, and
