Man Charged With Murdering NBA Player Lorenzen Wright 7 Years After His Death

On July 28, 2010, the body of 34-year-old Lorenzen Wright was found decomposing in suburban Memphis. On Tuesday, a man was charged in the murder of the former NBA player. The suspect, 46-year-old Billy Turner, was indicted on first-degree murder and is being held on $1 million bond, according to The Washington Post.

As ABC News shared, Wright’s ex-wife said he left her home on July 18, 2010 with drugs and cash. He got into a car with an unidentified person and wasn’t seen after that. On July 19, a police dispatcher received a call from Wright’s cellphone. Authorities said they heard a man cursing, followed by number gunshots on the call, according to The New York Times. When Wright was found, the former athlete had two gunshot wounds in his head, two bullets in his chest and bullet fragments in his forearm.

“Additional gunshot wounds cannot be excluded,” the autopsy report noted.

17-Year-Old Missing Soccer Player Caught On Surveillance With Coach, May Be Heading To Northeast

Officials now say that the missing teen soccer player from Columbia County, Florida who allegedly ran off with her school’s head boys soccer coach may be heading to the Northeast. Police released photographs that capture Caitlyn Frisina, 17, and Rian Rodriguez, 27, at multiple locations on Sunday: two gas stations in Georgia and South Carolina in addition to a North Carolina pawn shop, according to Fox News.

Frisina, an avid girls soccer player, was last seen on Saturday evening at her home. She met up with Rodriguez before she went missing. She reportedly erased all data on her cell phone beforehand. Police told News 4 Jax that the missing teen’s bedroom window found open. She is believed to have run away on her own accord.

Police: Missing 17-Year-Old Soccer Player May Be With 27-Year-Old Coach

A missing teenager from Columbia County, Florida may be with the boys soccer coach of her school, police and the school district believe. Caitlyn Frisina, an avid soccer player, has been missing since Sunday.

According to News 4 Jax, it seems she left her home of her own accord. Police said before she disappeared, she erased everything on her cell phone and withdrew $200 from an ATM in St. Marys, Georgia on Sunday. Police think she might be with 27-year-old Rian Rodriguez. His role of head boys soccer coach at Fort White High School has been suspended, pending an investigation.

The two might be traveling in a red Mercury Sable, according to Action News Jax.

The teen’s mother, Scarlet Frisina, told News4Jax on Monday that she just wants to know that her daughter is safe.

A former professional football player is accused of slashing his wife’s throat. Anthony McClanahan, 46, has been detained as the primary suspect in his wife Keri “KC” McClanahan’s November 2 murder in Park City, Utah. McClanahan was signed by the Dallas Cowboys in 1994 but never made an appearance in a game, according to People. He played four years with the Calgary Stampeders of the Canadian Football League in the 1990s.

A neighbor called 911 after spotting Anthony crawling on his stomach through the hallways of a condominium complex. He was screaming for help. When police arrived on the scene, Anthony raised himself up to flag down authorities, according to the Salt Lake City Tribune.

Former NFL Player Named Suspect In Murdered Wife’s Brutal Stabbing

Anthony Darnel McClanahan, former NFL Dallas Cowboys player, has been named as the primary suspect in the death of his wife Keri “KC” McClanahan. Keri had been found dead on Thursday after a “ruckus” was reported in her Park City, Utah hotel room.

According to the Salt Lake TribuneKeri was found with knife wounds in her throat. 

Homicide charges have not officially been filed against Anthony. The case will be screened by the Summit County Attorney’s Office early next week.

Testimony from Keri’s sister, Heather Gauf, indicates that the two had allegedly had a turbulent relationship filled with domestic violence. Keri had attempted to flee from Anthony at least twice. She had returned to Arizona with her husband both times. Keri had also gone to Gauf in Utah for refuge.

Gauf claims that Anthony blamed his behavior on the injuries he suffered while playing football.

High School Football Player Sent Pics Of Mom’s Corpse To Friend After Murdering Her With Hammer

A Maryland teenager accused of beating his own mother to death with a hammer last week, allegedly texted a photo of his mom’s corpse to a friend after killing her.

Sixteen-year-old Andrew Zaragoza has been charged with murder in connection with the beating death of his mom, 56-year-old Donna Zaragoza.

According to ABC2, Andrew told police,”My mom was taking pills this morning, she hit me and I killed her.”

He sustained self-inflicted cuts and wounds to his face and neck. The mother suffered  major trauma to the skull, a stab wound to the back and a stab wound in the chest. A bloodied ball-peen hammer was found next to her body on her bed. There was also a bloody kitchen knife tucked behind Andrew’s bedroom door.

16-Year-Old High School Football Player Charged With Beating Mom To Death With A Hammer

A Maryland teenager is accused of beating his own mother to death with a hammer last week. Andrew Zaragoza, 16, has been charged as an adult for the bludgeoning death of his mom, 56-year-old Donna Zaragoza, according to The Baltimore Sun. Her body was found in a bedroom of the family’s Bel Air, Maryland house.

The high school student, known for playing football, was allegedly hit by his mother the morning of the murder, according to Zaragoza’s lawyer, public defender Tim Bahr. She allegedly took pills before striking her son. Zaragoza’s father and uncle both died of drug overdoses last year.

“He is a victim of abuse throughout his life, mental abuse, emotional abuse and physical abuse,” Bahr said before a judge on Saturday.

Andrew Zaragoza had also suffered self-inflicted stab wounds, ABC2 reported.

Police had been called to the family home previously for drug abuse, domestic problems, and mental health concerns.
