First Officer To Arrive At Maura Murray’s Crash Site Debunks ‘Witness A”s Account

On the most recent episode of “The Disappearance of Maura Murray,” “Witness A” spoke on camera. For years, one eyewitness of the crash scene has kept her identity protected from the public for years.

“It didn’t feel like it would be safe for me to do that because obviously something bad happened,” Karen McNamara said. Now, she decided it would be safer to reveal her identity.

“But, they know who I am because I called and told them who I am so then I thought it would be safer if people knew who I am.”

By “they,” McNamara means the police.

“I feel it’s risky to say on camera but I don’t totally trust the police,” she said.

Why? Because she reported seeing a police SUV on the crash scene. The SUV was marked 001.

“They (police) asked me if I was sure it was 001. I

Utah Police Officer Fired For Roughing Up, Arresting Nurse Who Was Just Doing Her Job

The Salt Lake City police detective, Jeff Payne, who was caught on video aggressively arresting a nurse who was trying to protect an unconscious patient has been fired. Additionally, his watch commander James Tracy was demoted from lieutenant to officer, according to the Washington Post.

The actions were taken after internal review by the Salt Lake City Police Department was conducted. That review concluded that Payne and Tracey violated department policy.

“I have lost faith and confidence in your ability to continue to serve as a member of the Salt Lake City Police Department,” Chief Mike Brown stated in a termination letter to Payne. That letter was published by the Deseret News. “I am deeply troubled by your lack of sound, professional judgment and your discourteous, disrespectful and unwarranted behavior, which unnecessarily escalated a situation that could and should have been resolved in a manner far different from the course

Bodycam Footage Shows Utah Police Officer Shoot And Kill Man Who Was Running Away

Bodycam footage from the Salt Lake City Police Department shows cops shooting and killing a man who appeared to be running away. As CNN reports, the victim was Patrick Harmon who was fleeing after being arrested on August 13.

The police department was under investigation for seven weeks following the incident. The Salt Lake County district attorney concluded the officers’ use of deadly force was justified as the officers said they feared Harmon was going to harm them. Harmon was a 50-year-old black man who was initially stopped for reportedly riding his bicycle across six lanes and a median. He was required to have a “red rear tail light on his bicycle,” per the officer who stopped him. After Harmon provided “a couple different names” when he was asked for identification, the officer called for backup. They discovered he had a felony warrant out for his arrest on charges of aggravated assault.

Sgt. Timothy Nolan of Brooklyn, New York faces charges after forcing a woman to perform a sex act on him in a courthouse stairwell, according to The New York Post.

The victim, Erica McRae, had been waiting to post bail for her boyfriend and was directed into a hallway by Nolan, where he pulled out his penis and declared “I got you. I will take care of you,” and commanded her to “spit on it,” according to court documents.

The victim reportedly feared for the fate of her boyfriend, whom she worried may face consequences if she did not obey Nolan’s demands. She has decided to come forward with her identity in the hopes of preventing incidents like this from occurring in the future.

Nolan was arraigned Monday before Brooklyn Supreme Court Justice Danny Chun.

“What this defendant – a public servant – allegedly did was a disgrace to his fellow court officers who day

Officer Who Killed Philando Castille Gets $48500 In Agreement

Jeronimo Yanez, the police officer who fatally shot Philando Castille in front of his girlfriend and her child and was later acquitted for the killing, is now receiving more than $48,500 in a separation agreement with the Minneapolis suburb of St. Anthony.

According to Counton News 2, on top of the $48,500, Yanez will receive pay for over 600 hours of compensated time.

USA Today adds that Yanez’s salary at the time of the shooting was more than $72,600, not including overtime. Yanez will be paid in a lump sum.

“Since Officer Yanez was not convicted of a crime, as a public employee, he would have appeal and grievance rights if terminated,” said the city of St. Anthony in a statement. “A reasonable voluntary separation agreement brings to a close one part of this horrible tragedy. The city concluded this was the most thoughtful way to move forward and

Officer Found Not Guilty In Shooting Death Of Philando Castile

A Minnesota police officer was found not guilty in the shooting death of Philando Castile. Last July, Castile was pulled over for a traffic stop. His girlfriend filmed the altercation with police that resulted in Castile being shot and killed. He was shot despite following the officer’s commands and alerting him to the fact that he had a gun in the car. Today, Officer Jeronimo Yanez was exonerated for killing Castile, according to NPRafter a jury deliberated for five days.

Last November, Yanez was charged with one count of felony second-degree manslaughter, as well as two felony counts of intentional discharge of a dangerous weapon over allegedly endangering Castile’s girlfriend, Diamond Reynolds, and her daughter, who was also in the car. He pled not guilty.

The trial began in May. According to ABC News, prosecutors had to prove Yanez acted with culpible negligence in order to be found guilty of manslaughter.

Officer Who Killed Tamir Rice Fired, But Not For Killing 12-year-old

The officer who shot and killed 12-year-old Tamir Rice in Cleveland has been fired from the police force— but not because of the shooting. Timothy Loehmann was fired today because he broke administrative rules.

According to NBC News, Loehmann was accused of giving false information on his job application to the Cleveland Division of Police.

Disciplinary action has also been taken against Officer Frank Garmback, the officer who was with Loehmann at the scene of the shooting. Garmback has been suspended for 10 days and must take additional training related to tactics used during the Rice incident.

On Nov. 22, 2014, Rice was shot and killed by Loehmann outside the Cudell Recreation Center. The officers thought Rice had a weapon but in actuality, it was a toy gun. The murder of Rice caused national outrage and protests

In December 2015, a grand jury declined to indict Loehmann and Garmback.
