In 2016, Daniel Shaver was shot to death by police. The officer who killed Shaver, Philip Brailsford, was recently found not guilty on charges of manslaughter, despite the existence of an incredibly graphic video of the incident, in which Shaver can be seen begging for his life. Now, Shaver’s wife is speaking about the incident, categorizing the slaying as “an execution.”
“I’ve been fighting for two years and screaming. Finally, now, it took people watching my husband die a very horrible inhumane death for people to care,” Laney Sweet said in a recent interview.
“You had a man begging for his life, and he was shot five times for what?” she continued. “For his elbow coming up too high? For being confused? For being compliant? Why did he deserve to die? He didn’t.”

A bow hunter was attacked by a grizzly bear in Montana, resulting in a head wound that required 90 stitches to close.
“The bear just flat-out charged us,” Tom Sommer, 57, told TIME from his hospital bed on Tuesday. He said the bear was eating an elk carcass before charging at him and his hunting partner who were searching for elk.
“It bit my thigh, ran his claws through my wrist and proceeded to attack my head,” Sommer said. “I could hear bones crunching, just like you read about.”
When he and his hunting partner spotted the bear, his partner used bear spray to slow the animal down. But, Sommer struggled with his bear spray canister. He said he was unable release the safety on it, so he ran, dropping the spray in the process. He was, however, able to grab his pistol. But, Sommer recalled that the bear swatted his arm

A man in Hollywood offered to pay for a homeless man’s groceries. The transient thanked him by brutally attacked him with a hatchet.
Kisu Brady Brown was arrested Tuesday, after a surveillance camera outside a 7-Eleven caught the attack on camera.
The Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department said in a press release that Brown was allegedly shoplifting from 7-Eleven when an unidentified man approached him and offered to pay for the stolen items. “The suspect became upset, refused the victim’s offer and a struggle ensued,” the document states. Then, Brown struck the man in the head with an ax multiple times. Another man bravely tried to intervene in the attack, and rushed to the victim’s aid.
