The country is still recovering after the deadliest mass shooting occured on Sunday ninght on the Las Vegas Strip.
At least 59 people were killed and more than 515 were injured when a man began shooting from the 32nd floor of the Mandalay Bay Hotel. In light of the tragedy, many false stories and hoaxes have surfaced.

1. Fake Victims Like Taylor Joshuas
Social media has circulated several pleas from what appeared to be families looking for missing relatives following the tragedy. In the above post, a parent is looking for a missing 14-year-old daughter. The image claims the teen’s name is Taylor Joshuas and desperately asks for public help. But the photo appears to have originated from the Snapchat account of a completely different person, who was not involved in the

A judge in Decatur, Alabama has thrown out charges against a teacher for allegedly having sexual relations with two students when she taught at Decatur High School. 44-year-old Carrie Witt had her charges dismissed without prejudice on constitutional grounds on Thursday.
According to WHNT, Witt was accused of sleeping with two students between 16 and 19 years old.
Morgan County Circuit Judge Glenn Thompson ruled students can consent to sex under state law once they turn 16, unless someone uses a “position of authority” to “coerce, groom, or otherwise obtain the illegitimate consent of the alleged victims.” Although a teacher may be in a position of authority, the judge found that it “clearly does not exist between every school employee and every student regardless of where that student is enrolled.”

Last week, Richard Rojas drove his Honda Accord into a busy sidewalk in New York City’s Times Square. The incident, which momentarily brought the city to a halt as experts wondered if the situation was terrorism-related, left one dead and 22 others injured. Now, Rojas has come forward admitting he has various mental health issues, but does not know what, specifically, is the problem.
Rojas has since admitted that he was high on marijuana and PCP during the altercation. After running into almost two dozen people, Rojas had exited his car and reportedly screamed, “You were supposed to shoot me! I wanted to kill them!”
