Murder charges against a Forth Worth, Texas man have been dropped after the man’s 7-year-old son admits to being responsible for the 2015 killing. Anthony Michael Sanders, 33, was accused of smothering his 2-year-old daughter, Ellie Mae Sanders, to death in 2015.
According to Fox News, police accused Sanders of killing the toddler after she interrupted him while he was playing a computer game. He was accused of putting his hand over the girl’s mouth to smother her, according to the Associated Press.
Sanders has been in prison since 2016. Now, prosecutors in the case said the girl’s brother admitted to being responsible for her death when he was just 5 years old.
Since the start, Sanders claimed he found his daughter unresponsive after his son said he found his sister sleeping, and unable to wake up. Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports that the boy confessed to his mother that he hit
