Legal Battle Over Body Of Charles Manson Continues, Called ‘Capitalism At Its Worst’

legal battle over the ownership of the body of deceased cult leader Charles Manson has been waging since the notorious criminal’s death. Now, a new report from The New York Times investigates the complexities of the case, which was described by one victim advocate as “capitalism at its worst.”

At least four people from three different states have claimed the body rightfully belongs to them. The issue is expected to be settled in a California court next week.

Those who are attempting to gain possession of the body include: a man who claims to be his grandson, a man who claims to be friend of Manson’s, and another duo, one of whom claims to be his son (who also claims to have a will instructing the body be handed over to him).

Before his death, Manson claimed to have no will or instructions about what should be done with his corpse. He also said

Multiple People Are Fighting To Claim The Remains Of Cult Leader Charles Manson

At least five people are fighting over the ownership of Charles Manson’s human remains, and it’s reportedly stressing out authorities. It seems as if even from the grave, Manson is continuing his legacy of creating a deranged circus.

Last month, the murderous cult leader died at the age of 83. According to a California Department of Corrections statement, Manson died of natural causes at a hospital.

Kern County lawyers filed paperwork in Los Angeles County Superior Court on Monday, looking for assistance in figuring out where Manson’s corpse should go. The coroner is afraid of releasing his body to the wrong person, the Los Angeles Times reported.

“We have the following problem we’re trying to cope with here: The Department of Corrections asked the Kern County Coroner to receive the body because we have refrigeration and they don’t,” Bryan Walters, a deputy attorney in the county counsel’s office told the Los

Murderous Cult Leader Charles Manson Dead At 83

Charles Manson, the cult leader who orchestrated the infamous murders of seven people during the summer of 1969, died on Sunday at the age of 83. According to a California Department of Corrections statement, Manson died of natural causes at a hospital.

He was the leader of the “Manson Family,” a group of followers —  mostly runaways and other outliers — that killed for him.

“He was the dictatorial ruler of the (Manson) family, the king, the Maharaja. And the members of the family were slavishly obedient to him,” former prosecutor and author of the best-selling true crime novel about the Manson murders “Helter Skelter,” Victor Bugliosi told CNN in 2015.

On August 9, 1969, “Manson Family” murdered actress Sharon Tate, who was eight months’ pregnant, celebrity hairstylist Jay Sebring, coffee fortune heiress Abigail Folger, writer Wojciech Frykowski and Steven Parent, a friend of the family’s caretaker, according to CNN. The next

One of the women convicted of going on a murder spree on the orders of cult leader Charles Manson was again denied parole this week, after nearly half a century in prison.

In 1971 Patricia Krenwinkel was convicted of seven counts of murder for her role in the 1969 massacres, which left seven people dead including the pregnant actress Sharon Tate. She is the longest-serving female inmate in the California prison system, and has been denied parole 13 times.

Krenwinkel, 69, went before the parole board claiming that she had been abused by Charles Manson at the time of the murders and suffered from “Intimate Partner Battery,” commonly called “battered wife syndrome.”

Krenwinkel famously stabbed Folger coffee heiress Abigail Folger 28 times in one of the murders, even as Folger pleaded with her to stop because “I’m already
