Police in Los Angeles have arrested an alleged serial rapist they have been trying to track down after they witnessed one of his victims fall out of his car. According to The Washington Post, police held a press conference on Wednesday, where they announced the arrest of 35-year-old Ferdinand Ervin Flowers of Long Beach.
“We believe we have the right predator off the streets who committed these horrible crimes,” Justin Eisenberg, LAPD chief of detectives, said at the news conference.
Flowers, a security guard, allegedly robbed a 19-year-old woman at gunpoint before trying to force her to have sex with him on Friday, according to The Washington Post. The brave woman fought him off and fell out of his car in plain sight of two police detectives, who happened to be in the area investigating that very case. Flowers was arrested on kidnapping and sexual assault charges,
