Ten years after the death of 30-year-old Travis Alexander, a new limited series is airing an exclusive interview with the detective who investigated the case that landed Jodi Arias behind bars, Fox News reported.
In 2008, Alexander, a Mormon salesman living in Arizona, was discovered dead in his shower with nearly 30 stab wounds and a bullet in his head.
His girlfriend, Jodi Arias, was arrested for the murder, with prosecutors claiming that she planned the killing after Alexander broke up with her.
Arias was found guilty in 2013 of first-degree premeditated murder. She was sentenced to life in prison without parole, and she remains behind bars at the Arizona State Prison Complex in Perryville.
Now, Nathan Mendes — the detective who arrested Arias — is speaking out for the first time in a three-part Investigation Discovery series called “Jodi Arias: An American Murder Mystery.”
“I think people should realize the whole thing is

Dr. Seuss’ “How the Grinch Stole Christmas!” is a holiday classic. One kid took the title of the movie literally and called authorities to turn the Grinch in. As Mississippi News Now reported, 5-year-old Tylon Pittman of Byram, Mississippi was watching the movie on a smart phone. Thinking the Grinch was a thief of holiday joy, he called 911.
The officer who arrived told Tylon that the Grinch would not ruin Christmas, as he does in the movie.
“He calls people all the time,” said Tylon’s mother Teresa Brown-Pittman. “If he gets your number, he’s going to call you and blow you up; but to dial 911, oh my God, no.”
Police Officer Lauren Develle heard about the call and wanted to give Tylon a visit.
“Our dispatcher posted a status on Facebook that she had received a call from a little boy … and he told her he thought the Grinch was going to be

A man accidentally shot himself in the groin while robbing a hot dog stand on Tuesday, the Chicago Tribune reports. Terrion Pouncy, 19, allegedly robbed the Original Maxwell Street Polish at gunpoint, demanding money from the register and an employee’s wallet and cellphone, according to a criminal complaint. As Pouncy fled, he put the .38-caliber pistol in his pants. As he did, the gun went off, shooting him in the thigh and penis area.
Pouncy called 911, stating he’d been shot. At the same time, employees from the hot dog stand dialed 911 about the robbery.
Officers later found Pouncy near a car wash, where he called 911 to say he had been shot, according to WSMV. Around the same time, employees had also called the police to report the robbery.
As of Thursday, Pouncy remained hospitalized for his injuries. He was not

A boy in Beaverton, Oregon called 911 on his own mother for driving drunk from the backseat of her car.
Nicole Norris, 30, was driving home from a minor league baseball team game Saturday night when her 11-year-old son called 911, according to Oregon Live.
Police arrived and Norris was cited for a DUI. Her blood alcohol content was nearly twice the legal limit, an NBC affiliate reports.
“I’ve never had that call before,” Deputy Deputy Shannon Wilde. “We get a lot of concerned citizens, people call in, about people they think are driving impaired, swerving, or driving really slow, but to have a child call from inside the car to say the parent is driving impaired is unusual.”
Wilde praised the boy for his actions.
“I think it absolutely says that he’s a courageous young man, who knows the difference between right and wrong,” said Wilde. “Even doing something as hard as

A Snapchat video uploaded by a Saudi woman that showed her walking through a small village wearing a mini skirt and crop top has prompted calls for her arrest, CBS News reported.
Officials in the conservative Muslim country are considering arresting the woman, who was breaking the law by not wearing an abaya—a long-sleeved, full-length dress—in public.
Most women in Saudi Arabia also wear a headscarf and veil.
The video, which is reportedly being shared over social media, shows the young woman walking through an historic fort in Ushaiager, a village north of the Saudi capital.
BuzzFeed found that Saudis have been in two camps about the decision, with some saying that she should be arrested for breaking the law, and others noting that when Westerners visit the country, their fashion isn’t similarly policed.
“We demand that Khoulud be tried because she acted irresponsibly,” one Saudi man said, according to BuzzFeed’s translation

Kendall and Kylie Jenner are getting dragged on social media for defacing T-shirts featuring well-loved artists like Tupac Shakur and Biggie Smalls and adding their initials and Instagram pics — yes, Instagram pics — to the iconic images. The “vintage” shirts are being sold for $125 each as part of the Kendall + Kylie “Rock vs. Rap” capsule collection.
Biggie’s mother Voletta Wallace spoke out against the shirts on social media earlier today, The Shade Room reports.
“I am not sure who told @kyliejenner and @kendalljenner that they had the right to do this. The disrespect of these girls to not even reach out to me or anyone connected to the estate baffles me,” she wrote on Instagram. “I have no idea why they feel they can exploit the deaths of 2pac and my Son Christopher to sell a t-shirt. This is

Charleena Lyles called police to report an attempted burglary but was shot and killed in front of her children by the officers who came to help her, according to The Seattle Times. Now, family members and investigators are scrambling to figure out what happened as national tensions over police misconduct continue to reach a boiling point following the news of a lack of conviction in the Philando Castille case.
Police say that at some point during the check-in, Lyles had displayed a knife. Lyles family reports that she had been dealing with mental health issues throughout the pregnancy and had been worried that officers were coming to take away her other children, one of whom has Down syndrome.
A Washington Post report adds that the children were not injured during the skirmirsh and that both officers involved have since been placed on administrative leave. Police have since said the
