A woman who is 37 weeks pregnant was beaten with a baseball bat and injected with methamphetamine against her will in Charleston, West Virginia, on Thursday. According to the Charleston Gazette-Mail, Kyle Wilson Stowers, 21, is accused of being the man behind these despicable actions.
He has been charged with malicious wounding and is being held on a bail of $10,000. It is unclear if he has a lawyer who can speak on his behalf at this time.
The woman claimed that Stowers attacked her inside a home, striking her in the head, face, legs and torso with a wooden baseball bat numerous times. She has suffered cuts and bruises from the attack. Then, according to the woman, he left her “for dead.” Before fleeing, though, he allegedly injected meth into her arm, The Associated Press reported. Earlier this Summer, a congressional baseball game became the target of a shooter who managed to injure a handful of participants. Now, months later, one of the survivors is speaking about the horrific encounter.
“We all yelled ‘Gun!’” said Tyson Foods lobbyist Matt Mika on “Good Morning America.” “I don’t know who yelled it first and we started running.”
Mika had taken a bullet to the chest during the incident which left five injured. Shooter James Hodgekinson would die from injuries incurred during a shootout with police.
“I could see his eyes and the gun, but that was it. After that, I was like, ‘I’ve got to get out of here. I’ve got to run as fast as I can and move.'”

House Majority Whip Steve Scalise was among at least five people shot Wednesday morning after a gunman opened fire during a congressional baseball practice at a Virginia park.
The Republican lawmaker was shot in the hip and is in stable condition and undergoing surgery, according to NBC News.
“Prior to entering surgery, the Whip was in good spirits and spoke to his wife by phone,” Scalise’s office said in a statement. “He is grateful for the brave actions of U.S. Capitol Police, first responders, and colleagues.”
Two Capitol Police officers were also wounded. Their injuries are being reported as non-life-threatening.
Alabama Republican Rep. Mo Brooks was at the baseball practice and told CNN, he heard a ‘blam.’
