ID appoints Oxygen exec

Discovery Communications has rejigged the senior development team at its US cablenet Investigation Discovery (ID) by adding an exec from NBCUniversal’s Oxygen Media.

Erica Diaz-Gant

Erica Diaz-Gant joins from Oxygen to become senior director of development at ID. She was previously in charge of Snapped, the longest-running crime series on Oxygen, and also developed and produced its second longest-running crime series, Killer Couples.

Diaz-Gant, who has credits on shows including She Made Me Do It and #KillerPost, will be based in Discovery’s New York office, reporting directly to Jane Latman, exec VP of development for ID.

Meanwhile, ID’s former director of development, Brent Hatherill, has been promoted to senior director.

ID snaps up Oxygen’s Erica Diaz-Gant

True crime network Investigation Discovery has bolstered its roster of content developers with the appointment of Oxygen Media exec Erica Diaz-Gant.

Based out of Discovery’s offices in New York, Diaz-Gant joins the channel as senior director of development. She will be tasked with overseeing the network’s development slate, reporting directly into Jane Latman, Investigation Discovery’s executive VP of development.

Most recently, Diaz-Gant (pictured) served as executive-in-charge of NBCUniversal-owned Oxygen’s longest-running true crime series Snapped, and developed and produced the net’s second longest-running crime series Killer Couples.

Her development credits during her tenure at NBCUniversal include She Made Me Do It, #KillerPost and the Snapped: Notorious franchise.

Elsewhere, ID has elevated Brent Hatherill from his role of director of development to senior director. He will remain in Discovery’s Silver Spring, Maryland headquarters, reporting to VP of development Winona Meringolo.

Randy Scheffield, Doretta Scheffield: ‘The Perfect Murder’ Examines Ohio Cold Case On Investigation Discovery Tonight

Randy Scheffield was gunned down in his Ohio home in 2011. Tonight, on Investigation Discovery’s The Perfect Murder, his case will be examined. Randy Scheffield’s murder was unsolved for four years until his wife, Doretta Scheffield, his stepson, David ‘Tig’ Rowles, and his stepson’s girlfriend, Gina Battaglia, were arrested, according to the Geauga County Maple Leaf. Gina Battaglia was sentenced to two years in prison for her part in the crime. She has since been released. Doretta Scheffield was sentenced to 25 to life in prison. Charges against Doretta Scheffield’s son, David ‘Tig’ Rowles, were dropped.

Yazmin Linares Medina: Amber Alert For Missing Cleveland Hispanic Girl, Disappeared During Night Walk

Yazmin Linares Medina, a 10-year-old child, is missing and an Amber Alert has been issued, WATE is reporting. Arleth Yazmin Linares Medina was last seen leaving her home at around 8:20 p.m. in Cleveland, Tennessee. Her mother said she was headed to the local soccer field to find her house keys. Cleveland Police and the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation want the public to help find her. Update: Yazmin Linares Medina has been found safe.


Residents received the Amber Alert about Yazmin Linares Medin at around 1:40 a.m., leaving them concerned the notification was sent out hours after the girl vanished.



Yazmin Linares Medina was last seen walking along Baugh Street, near Parker Street and 20th Street NE. Her mother, Rosa Medina, told investigators that her daughter went to the Ocoee Middle School Soccer Field to retrieve her keys.

Emerald Princess Cruise: American, Utah Passenger Dies Aboard Alaskan Cruise Ship After Domestic Dispute


A Utah woman is dead after a domestic dispute on the Emerald Princess cruise ship. Authorities say the incident between the couple took place in United States waters, near Alaska, not international waters, according to KTUU. The 39-year-old woman was from Utah.


News of the Alaskan Cruise Ship death was first reported in a news release by Princess Cruises. Law enforcement officials say Emerald Princess cruise ship security notified the FBI and local police agencies regarding the tragedy. It occurred on Tuesday night at around 9 p.m, ABC News is reporting.
