Travis, 58, pleaded guilty to the 2012 DWI charges and was sentenced to 200 hours of community service, as well as 24 months of community supervision.
After Travis’s arrest, news outlets began asking for dashcam video of the arrest, which is legally obtainable via the Texas Public Information Act.
But Travis’s legal team blocked the video’s release, leading to a five-year legal battle. After the Texas Supreme Court and a Federal District Judge denied an injunction to stop the release of the video, the dashcam footage was finally made public on Friday.
The released video includes edits in order to hide reference to Travis’s medical and EMS history, as well as censoring his genitals.
