Two months ago, the gunman behind Sunday’s horrific mass shooting in Las Vegas, booked a room at a Chicago hotel that overlooked the venue for Lollapalooza. A police official confirmed Thursday that Stephen Paddock, 64, booked a room at the Blackstone Hotel the same week the annual music festival was held. His room would have overlooked the the main stage of the fest, where hundreds of thousands gathered to watch live music performances.
However, the official said there was no evidence that Paddock ever came to Chicago that weekend, according to the Associated Press. The booking of the hotel room was first reported by TMZ. They revealed that the shooter booked two rooms of the Blackstone Hotel. Paddock requested both rooms be a “view room” facing Grant Park, where Lollapalooza was held, according to TMZ.
