A Michigan mom allegedly tried to kill her son by locking him in a car and setting it on fire.

Sherri Marie Richter, 48, was arraigned Thursday on one count of assault with intent to murder and one count of arson, according to CBS Detroit.

The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office said that Richter bound her son’s wrists and locked him inside the family’s Ford Focus on Tuesday. The fire did not ignite, and eventually Richter let her son out of the car, according to CBS Detroit. The boy, age 11, was treated for minor injuries, according to CBS News.

Richter remains lodged in jail on a $100,000 bond.

Exchange Student Helped Her New Husband Molest Her Underage Sister

After marrying her American host, a foreign exchange student and her new husband allegedly lured her 14-year-old sister to Miami and sexually abused her her over a period of years, The Miami Herald reported.

Dale Leary, 50, had been previously convicted of breaking into a home and sexually assaulting a woman at gunpoint when in 2012 he became a foreign exchange host to teenage student Marta San Jose, of Spain, who was 16 at the time, police said.

Leary seduced San Jose when she was 18 and married her shortly after, divorcing his wife to do so, police claimed. Soon after, Leary and San Jose convinced her younger sister to move from Spain and join them in Miami.

In Miami, the couple attempted to convince the 14-year-old girl that she had been sexually abused by her parents, which hadn’t happened, the younger sister told police.

“We did have some trouble with him, of course. He was a teenager,” added Ryan’s mother, Rebecca Murtland. “But we would have all that back today, I

Victim Of ‘Bachelor In Paradise’ Misconduct Has Conducted Her Own Investigation

The scandal around the currently-filming season of Bachelor In Paradise continues to grow as lawyers for Corinne Olympios, a cast-member who claimed she was too intoxicated to consent to a sexual encounter that occurred during the show’s production, are now offering an official statement on the situation. Olympios’ team now seems satisfied with certain conclusions and reforms made to the show’s policies going forward.

Olympios offered her statement on the issue over social media:

“In light of the overwhelming amount of misinformation that has been spread in the media, I want to clarify a few things,” reads the statement. “My intent over the past few weeks has been to learn and understand what happened on June 4. While I never filed complaints or accusations against anyone associated with Bachelor in Paradise, my team and I felt it was very

A mom who drove her SUV with her children inside into the ocean was granted conditional release from a mental hospital Thursday afternoon. CBS affiliate WKMG reported that Ebony Wilkerson, 36, will have to stay in transitional housing and take injectable medications.
