District 2’s Josh Ambrose is Firefighter of the Year

Sometimes two decades of service to your community can begin with one simple, seemingly casual decision. For The Daily World’s selection of Firefighter of the Year for 2017, that decision was to join the Brady Volunteer Fire Department.

“To be honest, I could not tell you exactly why I decided to join,” said Josh Ambrose, a volunteer with Fire District 2 stationed in Central Park. “I had a couple of friends volunteering out of Brady and I figured it was a good way to give back to the community, so I figured let’s just do it and see how it goes.”

So far, it’s gone 20 years and a couple of months, during which time he has steadily taken on more responsibilities and put in a great deal of time for the fire district while holding down a full-time job with the city of Hoquiam as a Public Works crew lead.

K. Michelle Blasted Kylie Jenner For Copying Her Style

K. Michelle and Kylie Jenner probably won’t be meeting up for brunch any time soon. K recently came for Kylie over Kylie’s Coachella look this year, claiming that Kylie copied her hairstyle.

Bossip reports that K debuted a neon green blunt cut out and about in Atlanta earlier this month, only for Kylie to debut the same hair color and style at Coachella this past weekend. On Instagram, Kylie dubbed it her “highlighter hair,” but K wasn’t impressed.

“Mood: I like mine better. I do. Mine looks magical like I ride unicorns,” she wrote in an Instagram comment, adding #culture. “I think she looks great, don’t get me wrong. I like mine better. I said what I said now hush.”

She also went in on a fan who defended Kylie, blasting them for liking “untalented” people.

“I can like what I want,” she continued, in defense of her original comment.

A Fan Broke Into Drake’s House And Got Caught Wearing His Clothes

After breaking into Drake’s home, a young woman stole beverages and wore his hoodie — you know, just normal fan stuff.

According to TMZ, the incident took place while Drake wasn’t home, on the night of April 3. A member of the rapper’s crew walked into Drake’s Los Angeles home only to find a 24-year-old female fan hanging out in his bedroom, wearing one of Drake’s hoodies. It’s still unclear how she even gained entry to the home or how long she was there before Drake’s friend happened upon her. Even more baffling is that there were no signs of forced entry.

After the cops arrived, the woman claimed she had permission to be there, but confessed to stealing “Pepsi, Sprite, and Fiji water.” She was later arrested and charged with felony burglary.

Chris Brown Is Under Investigation For Allegedly Punching Photographer

Chris Brown may be in legal trouble again. The singer is being investigated in connection with an incident at a Florida nightclub, in which a photographer claims he was “sucker punched,” according to Fox News.

Tampa police spokesman Stephen Hegarty says that photographer Bennie Vines Jr. was hired by the AJA Channelside club at an event hosted by Brown. The photographer claims that when he was taking photos, the singer punched him and left the venue before authorities showed up. Vines refused medical treatment, but said that he is prosecuting over a minor lip cut.

The nightclub has confirmed the incident on its Facebook page. “Incidents like the ones caused by Chris Brown and his team are very sad to see,” it shared. “Assault charges were pressed and we are dealing with the proper authorities accordingly.”

Brown’s reps did not respond to Fox News to comment.

Trump has been easing Obama-era gun restrictions

By Anita Kumar

McClatchy Washington Bureau

WASHINGTON, D.C. — With little attention, President Donald Trump’s administration has been quietly loosening firearms restrictions in the United States after successfully seeking the support of gun owners on the campaign trail.

His agencies narrowed the definition of “fugitive,” a change that cuts the number of people who’ll be included in a database designed to keep firearms from people who are barred from owning them.

Federal officials have also signaled that they may no longer defend the Army Corps of Engineers’ ban on carrying loaded firearms and ammunition on federal lands.

Trump signed a bill behind closed doors that killed an Obama-era regulation that required the government to add to the no-buy list people whom the Social Security Administration has deemed eligible for mental disability payments. He signed another one that lifted restrictions on hunting on federal lands in Alaska.

With Republicans in control of the White House

Wendy Williams Dragged Tyrese (Again), But Did She Take It Too Far This Time?

Wendy Williams dragged Tyrese on national TV again, but the talk show host may have taken it too far this time.

On a recent episode of The Wendy Williams Show, Wendy went in on Tyrese over the slut shaming comments he made last week. In case you missed it, Tyrese went off on “sluts, skeezers, hoes, tramps, and overly aggressive promiscuous women” for not having any standards, and Wendy was having none of it.

“Tyrese, you never say anything bad about men. You’re always talking bad about women. Never anything bad about men,” Wendy said, no doubt referring to Tyrese’s earlier rant about women who wear weaves (she dragged him for that one, too). She then paused (for extra shadiness, I can only guess) before saying, “Well, he likes men.”

She then takes a sip of tea but the implication is clear. Yikes, right? It was pure misogynistic garbage that

Up To 50 Girls And Women Have Been Murdered On The Highway Of Tears

The Highway of Tears, which is the subject of this week’s Martinis Murder podcast, is a 450-mile stretch that cuts through dense forests in British Columbia, from Prince George to Prince Rupert. But it’s not the rugged terrain that has earned the highway its sad name. Since 1969, women and girls—most of them indigenous—have been murdered or have vanished. The Royal Canadian Mounted Police officially link 18 cases to the Highway of Tears, but The New York Times writes that relatives and activists say the total is closer to 50. And the vast majority of the cases remain unsolved.

There are many small towns along the Highway of Tears, and a combination of poverty with a lack of public transportation has made hitchhiking one of the only ways that some people can get around, which has contributed to the problem. Among the victims:

Monica Ignas was 14. She was last seen walking
