One read-through of Oxygen’s current programming immediately gives the uninitiated a feel for the network. Titles like Buried in the Backyard, Killer Affair, and Snapped: Killer Couples aren’t exactly nuanced, and neither is their respective content. On any of these Oxygen shows, the first five minutes typically involve a reenactment of an unsuspecting hunter, fisherman, or hiker who stumbles upon a dead body. Next, an actual detective who responded to the scene that day usually recalls to cameras how he noticed “the unmistakable scent of death” upon arrival. It can be very formulaic, with the exception of one show that was added to Oxygen’s lineup this year: Murder for Hire, which breathes some new life into a channel mostly about dead people.
Created by Dick Wolf of Law Order fame, Murder for Hire is, like

Andrew Lincoln wrapped shooting The Walking Dead in late June, but to the rest of the tight-knit cast, that farewell could have been yesterday.
Melissa McBride still feels his presence, saying with a hint of sadness, “Everything we do just has Rick all over it.” She jokes that the “always prepared” actor would arrive on set “like, five hours before call time. There’s nobody around to whip us into shape!”
What will be Rick’s fate? These pics give us a few hints.
For Jeffrey Dean Morgan, losing Lincoln — as well as Lauren Cohan — hit extra hard because of the production’s remoteness in rural Georgia. “Some great friendships are formed here. We’re out in the middle of —” He

A former lover of Mark Salling is seeking millions from the late “Glee” actor’s estate. Roxanne Gorzela says that she’s owed money in papers filed in Los Angeles Superior Court on the grounds that “I have a civil judgment in Los Angeles County … in the amount of $2,710,155.28,” as reported by San Francisco Gate.
“Assets of the estate are currently undetermined,” according to court papers obtained by San Francisco Gate. “Petitioner requests that any assets be placed in a blocked account when marshalled.”
Salling, 35, committed suicide in January. His death came just weeks before he was scheduled to be sentenced in court for child porn possession.
Gorzela’s settlement comes from a fight over a sexual encounter in 2011, reported TMZ. The former “Playboy” model sued for sexual battery, saying that she consented to having sex with the actor but he did not want to wear a condom. She alleges that he forced unprotected sex onto

During a gathering of United States governors held at the White House on Monday, President Donald Trump boldly declared that he would have stormed into Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida, even without a weapon.
“You don’t know until you test it, but I think, I really believe I’d run in there, even if I didn’t have a weapon, and I think most of the people in this room would have done that too,” Trump told the group of governors.
He addressed the Broward County Sheriff’s deputies, who reportedly remained outside the school as the school shooting unfolded, even more directly. He said the officers “weren’t exactly Medal of Honor winners” and that “the way they performed was frankly disgusting. […] The way they performed was really a disgrace.”
Sheriff’s deputy Scot Peterson, who was armed and did not enter the school, resigned last week after being suspended without

A mother from Charlotte, North Carolina, has been sentenced to seven days in jail for having her daughter baptized without the dad’s consent. According to WSOC-TV, the baptism happened a few years ago when Kendra Stocks and Paul Schaaf were embroiled in a heated custody battle over their daughter. According to court documents, the two definitely butted heads over religion.
The courts reportedly granted Schaaf the final decision-making authority on all legal custody decisions. According to WSOC-TV, that includes religion. In fact, Judge Sean Smith gave the dad full custody “specifically including decisions concerning religion,” the Charlotte Observer reported. Both parents were warned that they must obey the rules or face potential jail time.
Just one day after a judge warned the couple of that, Stocks baptized her daughter, according to court documents. Schaaf found out about it on Facebook.
Court documents state that “the mother has acted selfishly by

The Disappearance of Natalee Holloway premieres Saturday, August 19 at 7/6c and 9/8c.
She remains one of the most publicized missing person cases to date. Natalee Ann Holloway vanished on May 30, 2005, while on a high school graduation trip to Aruba. The 18-year-old honor student and dancer had finished high school just days before the trip.
“Natalee was an original,” one of her classmates and friends later recalled. She was obsessed with The Wizard of Oz. She had more Wizard of Oz stuff in her room than you’d ever seen! She was in love with Lynyrd Skynyrd. And she had a Sheltie named Macy. She loved that dog so much; she would color its hair with highlighters and paint its toenails.”
Natalee was also a brilliant student who’d been accepted to the University of Alabama on a full scholarship to study pre-med. She was supposed to fly home to Mountain Brook, Alabama on May
