A 10-year-old boy from Finney County, Kansas survived an exceptionally gruesome attack after he was mauled by his neighbor’s German shepherd mix. He faces many hurdles ahead. Chance Orozco went to visit his neighbor on December 5 when he was attacked by the dog, who was tethered to a nearby tree.
According to the Kansas City Star, the dog attacked Orozco’s face and neck. About 20 minutes after the vicious attack began, a witness called 911 to report that the boy was “down and not breathing, ” according to the Garden City Telegram.
“It’s an absolutely horrible, unfortunate accident,” Finney County Undersheriff John Andrews said.

Two suspects in the death of a North Dakota woman who was eight months pregnant when she disappeared will be arraigned Monday afternoon.
According to CBS News, they will face multiple charges, including conspiracy to commit murder.
Police Chief David Todd announced that the body of 22-year-old Savanna Greywind was found Sunday evening by kayakers. She was located in the Red River, which borders North Dakota and Minnesota, “heavily wrapped in plastic and duct tape” and stuck to a log.
Three days earlier, police found a baby in the apartment of Greywind’s neighbors, 32-year-old William Henry Hoehn and a 38-year-old Brooke Lynn Crews. Police believe the newborn girl was Greywind’s.
According to KFGO, DNA testing is conducted to confirm the baby is Greywind’s. Crews told police that Greywind visited her apartment Saturday to help her with a sewing project.
