Stephanie Steele has been elevated to senior vice president of production and development at Oxygen Media, NBCUniversal’s true crime multiplatform network for women.
In her new position, she will oversee Oxygen’s growing slate of true crime programming, including the second season of the Dick Wolf-produced Criminal Confessions and Unspeakable Crime: The Killing of Jessica Chambers.
Steele will remain based in Los Angeles and continue to report to Rod Aissa, executive vice president of original programming and development.
She previously held the position of VP of current production, serving as the executive in charge of series including the Snapped franchise and spin-offs Snapped: Notorious and Snapped: Killer Couples, as well as Buried in the Backyard, Mysteries Scandals with Soledad O’Brien and In Ice Cold Blood, hosted by Ice T.
Steele also launched several of the network’s high-rated documentary specials, including Aaron Hernandez Uncovered, Dahmer on Dahmer and The Turpin 13: Family Secrets Exposed.
