Designated Survivor Builds Its Season 3 Cast

The former ABC series Designated Survivor is adding two new names to its existing list of cast members. ER alum Anthony Edwards and actress Julie White will join the third season of the Kiefer Sutherland led drama, Deadline reports. Edwards will play the President’s Chief of Staff Mars Harper, and White will play Campaign Manager Lorraine Zimmer who is described as “a force of nature.” They join returning stars Sutherland, Kal Penn, Adan Canto, Italia Ricci and Maggie Q.

2018 CMT Artists of the Year (8/7c, CMT): CMT salutes the women of country music in this year’s live ceremony from Nashville, with Loretta Lynn honored as “Artist of a Lifetime” with a musical tribute featuring Sheryl Crow, Dierks Bentley and Martina McBride. Parkland Survivor David Hogg’s Home Swatted With Prank Hostage Call, Cops Say

Parkland shooting survivor David Hogg was the victim of a swatting attempt after someone made a prank hostage call, police said.

The Broward Sheriff’s Office SWAT team rushed to Hogg’s home Tuesday after someone called police claiming that a person broke in with an AR-15 rifle and was holding the family hostage, according to WSVN in Miami. Nobody was home. Instead, Hogg and his family were in Washington D.C., where Hogg was to accept a Robert F. Kenney Human Rights award.

Police determined that Hogg was likely the victim of “swatting,” which is the act of making a prank call to police in an attempt to bring a SWAT team to an intended address. Police are investigating the call to determine who was behind the swatting.

Tinder Stalker Survivor Who Was Stabbed 11 Times, Doused With Gasoline Shares Powerful Message

An Australian who was woman was stabbed 11 times by a Tinder date who stalked her, broke into her home and doused her with gasoline, recounted her harrowing story to Australia’s parliament on Tuesday.

“As I saw his knife rise and fall it took a while for my brain to comprehend that he was actually stabbing me,” Angela Jay said, according to the New York Post. “I remember one distinct thought — I am going to bleed to death.”

“I eventually found the strength to pick myself off the ground only to be met by a shower of [gas],” she added in her testimony on behalf of White Ribbon, an advocacy organization for victims of domestic violence. “It ran down my face and through my hair. It burned my eyes and I coughed as the fumes began to choke me.”

Congressional Baseball Game Shooting Survivor Describes Terrifying Incident: ‘I Had Blood All Over My Chest’

Earlier this Summer, a congressional baseball game became the target of a shooter who managed to injure a handful of participants. Now, months later, one of the survivors is speaking about the horrific encounter.

“We all yelled ‘Gun!’” said Tyson Foods lobbyist Matt Mika on “Good Morning America.” “I don’t know who yelled it first and we started running.”

Mika had taken a bullet to the chest during the incident which left five injured. Shooter James Hodgekinson would die from injuries incurred during a shootout with police.

“I could see his eyes and the gun, but that was it. After that, I was like, ‘I’ve got to get out of here. I’ve got to run as fast as I can and move.'”
