Some people spend their whole lives dreaming of bygone high school glory days.
But one man lived a double life for them.
A 25-year-old Texas man faked his way into a Dallas high school by claiming to be a Hurricane Harvey survivor, police said. Before his game was up, he was voted offensive player of the year in his basketball team conference and dated at least one classmate, who was 14.
Sidney Bouvier Gilstrap-Portley was arrested Friday for tampering with government documents, according to the Dallas Morning News. He later posted bail.
He enrolled in Hillcrest High School posing as Rashun Richardson, a supposed 17-year-old, police said.
Gilstrap-Portley, who played college ball at Dallas Christian College in recent years, took “savvy” steps to re-enroll in the high school, according to a school official. He said he was homeless and a refugee of Hurricane Harvey, which killed 88 people in southern Texas, according to the Texas Tribune. It is not clear if

A Pennsylvania teacher, recently suspended for an alleged relationship with one of her former students, was shot to death in her mother’s driveway on Mother’s Day.
Rachael DelTondo, 32, was shot multiple times and she died on the scene. She was returning from a trip to buy ice cream with a friend, KDKA-TV in Pittsburgh reported. She was “brutally shot at close range multiple times,” in the Aliquippa driveway, Beaver County District Attorney David Lozier told Newsweek.
Police haven’t released the name or description of the suspect, who is still at large. Lozier was mum about who the suspect could be but he did reveal that he believes DelTondo knew her killer. He also said he thinks the murder was a crime of passion and that residents do not have to worry for their own safety.
DelTondo was suspended last year from her teaching job at Pennsylvania Cyber Charter School, a

Charges have been dropped against a foreign exchange student accused of helping her former host turned husband to molest her younger sister.
Miami Dade prosecutors decided Thursday to drop the case against Marta San Jose, 22, because her younger sister didn’t want to return to the states to testify, according to an interoffice memo obtained by Oxygen.com.
Prosecutors met with the girls’ mother, who felt the younger sister had suffered enough, and shouldn’t have to be “subjected to the criminal justice system.”
San Jose and Dale Leary, 50, were charged with lewd and lascivious conduct with a child, and arrested last June.
San Jose didn’t speak during her hearing, according to WPLG 10 in Miami.
San Jose came to live with the Learys when she was 16. When she turned 18, Leary divorced his wife Claudia and married San Jose, and brought San Jose’s little sister, then 14, to live with them. Claudia, the

Students at Forest High School in Ocala, Florida had a scary start to the day.
One student was injured in a school shooting on Friday morning. That student, a male, was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment, according to the Associated Press. He was shot in the ankle and his injuries are not life-threatening. He is 17 years old, according to the Ocala Star-Banner.
The suspected shooter is in custody and has yet to be identified. He is not believed to be a student according to the Ocala Star-Banner.
Friday marks the anniversary of 19th anniversary of the massacre at Columbine High School in Colorado, and students across the country walked out of class on Friday morning to protest gun violence. It is unclear if the shooting in Ocala coincided with any marches at the school.
Chris Oliver, a man whose 16-year-old son is a Forest student, relayed what his son

Binghamton University in upstate New York is reeling from two killings of students in five weeks, with the suspect for the second slaying getting arrested Monday.
“Unfortunately, we live in a time where violence is part of society,” the university’s president Harvey G. Stenger wrote in a note to the community.
“This has been a very difficult semester for me and the entire campus with two student deaths in just a few weeks. These tragedies shake us to the core and we grieve together.”
Freshman engineering student Joao Souza was found seriously injured in his dorm Sunday night from what appeared to be stab wounds, campus police said. He was taken to a hospital and pronounced dead. Surveillance footage captured a man in a hooded sweatshirt who was believed to be the killer.

The police department in Cambridge, Massachusetts is catching heat over a video filmed Friday that captured officers punching a black Harvard student who had walked into a busy street and taken off his clothes.
Harvard University President Drew Faust called the police behavior “profoundly disturbing” and “upsetting” in an email to the university community Monday, according to the Boston Globe. The Harvard Black Law Student Association told the local Cambridge Day newspaper that the arrest was “a brutal instance of police violence.”
The student, Selorm Ohene, had been the subject of numerous 911 calls and was suspected of being under the influence of drugs, police said. A video from a bystander showed three Cambridge police officers and one transit police officer approaching Ohene on the street’s traffic island and attempting to talk to him. The three policemen converge on Ohene and throw him to the ground. As he squirmed underneath them, an officer hit him in the face five times,

A Texas fitness instructor was sentenced to life behind bars on Monday for the 2016 killing of a Texas college student. A jury found Charles Bryant, 31, guilty on first-degree murder charges for the gory death of 24-year-old Jacqueline Vandagriff, a student at Texas Woman’s University.
Vandagriff’s victim’s heart was cut out, and her dismembered and burnt body was left in a kiddie pool in a park. Bryant had confessed to dismembering and burning a college student’s body after claiming she died during kinky sex gone wrong.
During the trial, which began earlier this month, Bryant’s attorney Glynis McGinty argued Bryant and Vandagriff had consensual rough sex in Bryant’s car after they met in a bar on September 13. She claimed that Bryant used a zip tie for autoerotic asphyxiation, according to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. Then, she claimed her client panicked and tried to cover up her death.

A Texas fitness instructor has confessed to dismembering and burning a college student’s body after claiming she died during kinky sex gone wrong.
Charles Bryant, 31, faces first-degree murder charges for the gory death of 24-year-old Jacqueline Vandagriff, a student at Texas Woman’s University. His trial began this week.
“Jackie had just started a new path at TWU,” Tarrant County Assistant District Attorney Lucas Allen said in his opening statements Monday in a Fort Worth courtroom, according to WFAA-TV in Dallas. “It was a good path until an evil destructive figure, Charles Bryant, stepped into her path.”
Bryant and Vandagriff met at a Denton bar in September 2016. Just hours later, Vandagriff was dead. Bryant’s 2016 indictment claims he killed Vandagriff using zip tie, a knife or machete, and another unknown object, the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reported. A zip tie with hair fibers and a hacksaw “with potential hair on the blade” were among the dozens of items seized

An Oklahoma teacher has admitted to having sex with a 15-year-old student multiple times, including during a teacher walkout protesting school funds and salaries, officials said.
Keri Hoffman, 35, confessed the teenage love affair to her husband before surrendering to the Clinton Police Department on Sunday, according to KOTV in Tulsa.
Hoffman started her sexual relationship with the boy on March 30 and used Facebook messenger to arrange meetings for sex, the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation said.
Earlier this month, Hoffman took a group of students, including the alleged victim, to the state Capitol to participate in a teacher walkout that received national attention. Hoffman picked up the boy first and dropped him off last, “having sex with him each time,” police said.
Police also spoke to the alleged victim, who corroborated Hoffman’s story.
Hoffman teaches algebra at Clinton Middle School and has been a teacher since 2011. The 15-year-old

Tad Cummins, the former forensics teacher from Tennessee accused of kidnapping a 15-year-old student for 38 days and taking her across state lines for sex, is expected to reverse his not guilty plea.
The announcement came on Thursday after Cummins’ attorney made a court filing describing his client’s desire to change his plea to guilty after “personal reflection,” according to The Tennessean. In May, Cummins pleaded not guilty to federal charges of charges of obstruction of justice and transporting a minor across state lines for the purpose of engaging in criminal sexual conduct.
In March 2017, Cummins, then 50, ran off with his former student Elizabeth Thomas. After a national manhunt, the two were discovered hiding out in a remote California cabin where they posed as husband and wife. The former teacher allegedly admitted to having sexual contact with the teen during “most nights” during their five weeks on the
