A church in Florida has a warning for anyone thinking of trying to attack its congregation: “We are heavily armed.” A leader of The River at Tampa Bay Church posted the message on his Instagram in the wake of the mass shooting at the First Baptist Church in rural Sutherland Springs, Texas, where 26 people died earlier this month.
The Instagram post reads, “Welcome to The River at Tampa Bay Church. Right of admission reserved — this is private property. Please know this is not a gun free zone — we are heavily armed — any attempt will be dealt with deadly force — yes we are a church and will protect our people — The Pastors.”

The body of Vanessa MacCormack, a Boston area second-grade teacher, was discovered in her home on Sunday.
According to People, no arrests have been made in the case just yet.
Preliminary examinations on MacCormack’s body showed signs of trauma, but police would not elaborate on the matter. A medical examiner will make a more thorough examination and determine a cause of death in the near future.
“While the facts and circumstances do not immediately suggest a random incident, authorities said the investigation is still in its early stages,” says a statement from the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office.
Andrew MacCormack, Vanessa’s husband, could be seen crying at the scene of the crime.
“Words could never describe my sister,” said Angela Masucci, the victim’s sister. “My sister was the world’s best mother, she did everything for her daughter and had so many plans for her. She never missed an opportunity to bring her places

A former high school teacher is accused of having a long-term sexual relationship with a teenage boy she met when he was in middle school.
According to News 5, 36-year-old Laura Lynn Cross had a three-year relationship with a student she met when she was his eighth grade English teacher. She has since had his child.
The teen’s father says he had concerns about the former Buchtel High School teacher and told both school and police authorities back in 2012. No charges were filed.
Cross apparently even convinced the teen’s mother, who had custody, to allow the teen to move in with her through a court-approved, partial-parental custody arrangement. The teacher apparently positioned herself as a mentor to the teen.
“First of all, she’s a schoolteacher,” said the father. “To get aroused by a child basically you have to be a sick individual.”
Cross did resign from her teaching position in January 2015.
