‘Law & Order: SVU’, ‘Chicago’ Franchise Renewed By NBC | Deadline

NBC has renewed all four of its Dick Wolf series. That includes Law Order: SVU, picked up for a 20th season, tying the record for longest-running drama series, held jointly by Law Order and Gunsmoke. The network also has renewed all three Windy City-set drama series for next season: Chicago Fire will return for Season 7, Chicago P.D. for Season 6 and Chicago Med for Season 4.

The previous NBC regime denied Wolf the opportunity to beat Gunsmoke‘s record by canceling the mothership Law Order series after Season 20. With Law Order: SVU still doing well in its 19th season and Wolf’s career contributions to NBC, he got a shot at making history.

This season, SVU is tied with another Wolf show, Chicago P.D., as NBC’s second-highest-rated drama series behind This Is

Dick Wolf’s Cold Justice and Criminal Confessions renewed

Dick Wolf’s unscripted series have been renewed by Oxygen as the network ordered new seasons of Criminal Confessions and Cold Justice on Monday.

While NBC hasn’t made a decision on any of his scripted shows yet, Dick Wolf is staying in the unscripted TV business.

Oxygen—NBC’s sister channel and another part of the NBCUniversal family—announced on Monday that it had ordered Cold Justice season 5 and Criminal Confessions season 2, both of which will air later this year.

Specific premiere dates, as well as the number of episodes in each season, weren’t included in Monday’s press release.

The renewals are not a huge surprise, because Oxygen had touted Dick Wolf’s involvement ever since it rebranded as a true-crime network last year.

Cold Justice, which had previously run on TNT for its first three seasons, follows ex-prosecuting attorney Kelly Siegler as she and a team of investigators (who
