Fireman Who Died Fighting Movie-Set Blaze Honored As ‘Hero Of The Highest Order’

A sea of grief and blue uniforms swelled around St. Patrick’s cathedral this morning as thousands of fire-fighters, police officers and ordinary New Yorkers lined Fifth Avenue for the funeral of New York City firefighter Michael Davidson, who died battling a five-alarm fire on a movie-set in Harlem late last Thursday night.

The fire, in a building housing the former St. Nick’s Pub, a Jazz Club, is believed to have been sparked by a faulty boiler, according to the New York Daily News.

When the fire started, the club was being used to film “Motherless Brooklyn,” a movie adaptation of the Jonathan Lethem novel, directed by Edward Norton, starring Bruce Willis, Alec Baldwin, Leslie Mann and Willem Dafoe, according to Variety

Davidson, 37, a 15-year veteran, and father of four, charged into the burning building. He was a “nozzleman,”according to FDNY Commissioner Daniel Nigro, operating a hoseline with small team of firefighters

Here’s What We Know So Far About Quentin Tarantino’s Charles Manson Movie

Quentin Tarantino has hinted at a possible biopic telling the story of Roman Polanski and his connection to the notorious Charles Manson family murders for years. Now, as the project slowly becomes a reality, a wave of criticism has befallen the film amidst growing concerns voiced about the ethics of the auteur behind it. Some recent casting decisions pertaining to the movie have been made, showing that despite criticism, the project is moving forward.

Tarantino has cast both Brad Pitt and Leondardo DiCaprio in leading roles. Pitt will play Cliff Booth, a stunt double for former Western TV star Rick Dalton, who will be played by DiCaprio, according to Deadline

“Both [Booth and Dalton] are struggling to make it in a Hollywood they don’t recognize anymore. But Rick has a very famous next-door neighbor…Sharon Tate,” reads the official synopsis, according to Deadline.

The film’s title has officially been announced as “Once Upon A Time

The Trailer For ‘Hereditary’ Proves It May Already Be Creepiest Movie Of 2018

A horror film just premiered at the 2018 Sundance Film Festival, leaving attendees drenched in fear. Even the trailer for “Hereditary” is giving people hope that it may just be the horror film we’ve all been waiting for.

In fact, The AV Club called it “the most traumatically terrifying horror movie in ages.” A writer at that publication viewed the film at Sundance and wrote that he spent the screening in “a state of deep distress, palms soaked, breath shallow.”

He continued, “This isn’t a scary movie. It’s pure emotional terrorism, gripping you with real horror, the unspeakable kind, and then imbuing the supernatural stuff with those feelings. It didn’t play me like a fiddle. It slammed on my insides like a grand piano.”

“Hereditary” stars Toni Collette as Annie, a woman who appears to create dollhouse figurines and whose mother has just died. Her own daughter seems to have creepy tendencies,

‘Slender Man’ Movie ‘Extremely Distasteful,’ Says Father Of Girl Who Stabbed Classmate

The mythos of the Slender Man, a fictional monster created on spooky internet forums, has enraptured indie horror directors since the creature’s bizarre inception. Now, a new horror film about the extra-dimensional cryptid is looking to scare a new generation.

Not everyone is pleased with the new movie, though. The father of a teenager who attempted to murder a classmate in the name of the faceless phantom is speaking out against the project, characterizing it as distasteful.

The trailer for the new film, simply titled “Slender Man,” was released just yesterday:

“Slender Man,” directed by Sylvain White and written by David Birke, tells the tale of a group of teens who are attempting to debunk the digital urban legend, when one of them suddenly goes missing. In the teaser, no overt references to the bizarre case of teenagers Anissa Weier and Morgan Geyser are made, although the crime is implicitly in the background
