Sexual abuse victims of disgraced gymnastics Dr. Larry Nassar and Michigan State University have reached a settlement in principle in which the university will pay $500 million, attorneys for both sides said in a joint statement on Wednesday.
Under the settlement, $425 million will be paid to the 332 victims represented in current litigation, while the university will set aside another $75 million in a trust fund which could go to future plaintiffs who allege they were abused by Nassar, the attorneys said.
“This historic settlement came about through the bravery of more than 300 women and girls who had the courage to stand up and refuse to be silenced,” plaintiffs’ attorney John Manly said.
“Michigan State is pleased that we have been able to agree in principle on a settlement that is fair to the survivors of Nassar’s crimes,” said Robert Young, special counsel to the university.

Details of an alleged gruesome murder case in Colorado have come to light thanks to court records, which reveal that a man was killed in his sleep and buried by members of his own family.
Gunnison County District Court records indicate that a woman, Deborah Sue Rudibaugh, confessed to killing her own son, Jacob Henry Millison, then burying his body in a pit due to a long-awaited feud over who will inherit the $3 million ranch in the family’s tiny southwest town of Parlin, Colorado. She allegedly confessed that she had killed 29-year-old Jacob by herself more than two years prior. However, investigators suspect that the confession by the 5-foot-tall, 70-pound woman burying her son’s 170-pound body on her own may have been made to spare her daughter and son-in-law from blame, according to The Denver Post.
The horrific case seems to go something like this: The family has been feuding

An Oklahoma City federal judge has awarded $1 million in damages to a teenage boy who was raped by his middle school teacher, according to The Oklahoman newspaper.
Jennifer Caswell, 31, was sentenced to 15 years in prison, five of which were suspended, after pleading guilty to six counts of second-degree rape, child enticement and forcible sodomy in June 2015.
In his judgment, U.S. District Judge Robin J. Cauthron wrote that following the incident, which garnered national headlines after Caswell appeared on the “Dr. Phil” show, the victim experienced “depression, isolation, and self-blame for the events that transpired.”
The boy and his father sued Caswell and the Hollis Oklahoma school district in 2015 due to the boy’s emotional duress and in order to bring attention to the plight of sexual abuse by teachers, according to their attorney Bob Wyatt.

A Texas woman was found with $2 million worth of crystal meth hidden in “Purple Power” jugs in her car. Seline Ayala, 23, was traveling with her 4-year-old daughter when the drugs were found, the Austin Statesman reports.
She was pulled over for speeding last week, and an Austin police officer became suspicious. That led to a K-9 search of her car, which revealed at least 75 pounds worth of liquid crystal meth inside the white jugs that originally contained cleaner/degreaser.
The suspect told police a variety of stories, claiming she had the drugs because she worked for a doctor, according to the Austin Statesman. But, eventually she admitted she was taking the drugs to Dallas. She said she would be paid for her delivery upon her return to Laredo, where she lives, according to KVUE.

So much for true love. If you thought Rob Kardashian and Blac Chyna were the real deal, prepare yourself for a hefty dose of disappointment.
InTouch Weekly reports that the couple is putting on an act for the cameras so they can continue to rake in the cash from their reality show, Rob Chyna. In reality, things between the two are allegedly “messy” and “twisted.”
“Rob had agreed to have a fake relationship with Chyna because his momager, Kris Jenner, got E! to pay him more than $2 million to do a show,” a source close to the couple told InTouch.
The source went on to claim that the pressures of keeping the lie going are getting to be too much for Rob, and that he “completely regrets” agreeing to it. Coming clean about the staged relationship isn’t an option, though.
“It would be too humiliating,” the source explained.
