Golden State Killer Suspect Stands In Cage As Judge Announces He Will Release Some Of His Arrest Details To Media

Golden State Killer suspect Joseph DeAngelo stood in a cage as a judge debated how much information should be released about his arrest during a hearing on Tuesday in a Sacramento courtroom.

Video from the hearing showed DeAngelo, 72, listening intently to the judge while standing up in a cage, along with a court deputy. A sign on the cage warns others in the courtroom not to talk to the inmates inside it. One of DeAngelo’s lawyers stood next to the cage.

At DeAngelo’s last court appearance on May 14, cameras were not allowed. He was in a cage during that appearance too, but it was the first time he walked into the courthouse himself rather than being wheeled in. A sketch artist drew DeAngelo’s first standing appearance and reporters had to bring notepads instead of tape recorders. It seems that Sacramento County Superior Court Judge Michael Sweet has since changed

Judge Tells 30-Year-Old Man To Get Out Of Parents’ House After Living Rent-Free

A 30-year-old New York man is packing his bags and leaving his parent’s home — because a judge said so.

Judge Donald Greenwood on Tuesday ordered Michael Rotondo to vacate his childhood bedroom in his parent’s Camillus home.

Rotondo’s parents, Christina and Mark Rotonda, took the unusual step of turning to the court after their son ignored repeated requests to move out. In court, Michael Rotondo argued that he was entitled to six months notice, a point Greenwood explained only applied to landlord-tenant contracts.

Rotondo has been living at his parent’s home for the past eight years and does not pay rent. In his early twenties, he lived in his own apartment for a period of a year before moving back in with his parents.

Rotondo’s parents first asked him to leave in February in a note. It read:

“Michael, After a discussion with your Mother, we have decided you must leave this house immediately. You

Calling Killer Nanny ‘Pure Evil,’ Judge Sentences Her To Life in Prison

Calling the New York City nanny who stabbed a 2-year-old boy and a 6-year-old girl to death “pure evil,” a judge sentenced Yoselyn Ortega on Monday to life in state prison, without the possibility of parole.

Ortega stabbed Leo and Lucia Krim to death with a 13-inch kitchen knife in the bathroom of their family’s Upper West Side apartment on October 25, 2012. In April, she was convicted of two counts of first degree murder and two counts of second degree murder.

Ortega was hired by the children’s’ parents, Marina and Kevin Krim, in 2010, when Marina became pregnant with the couple’s third child, Leo, according to evidence presented during Ortega’s trial. Kevin Krim, a digital media executive at CNBC, believed hiring the nanny was necessary, he testified, because he was working 12-hour days.

On the day of the murders, Krim was on a plane returning from a business trip to the West Coast

Long Island Judge Accused Of Stealing Intern’s Soiled Underwear

A Long Island judge ended up on the other side of the bench last week for allegedly breaking into his former intern’s home to steal her soiled underwear.

Prosecutors say Suffolk County District County Judge Robert Cicale admitted to stealing underwear from the 23-year-old woman on more than one occasion.

On Thursday, Cicale allegedly broke in while the victim was home, according to The Associated Press. She called her mom, who in turn called the cops. They located the judge a few blocks away.

“He was found to be in possession with soiled female undergarments that we believe were either proceeds of this burglary or a prior burglary,” Suffolk County Acting Police Commissioner Stuart Cameron told NBC 4 in New York.

Despite the fact that the judge allegedly admitted to taking the underwear — and having urges to steal some from other women — he pleaded not guilty on Friday to second-degree burglary,

Utah Judge Releases Dramatic Video Of Fatal Courtroom Shooting; Dismisses Excessive Force Claim

Dramatic footage from a fatal courtroom shooting in Salt Lake City, Utah was released by a federal judge on Monday. The short, but intense clip, shows defendant Siale Angilau trying to attack a witness at his 2014 trial with a pen. A deputy U.S. marshal, who is only identified a Jane Doe in court documents, fires four shots at him, killing him, KSL in Salt Lake City reported.

“Drop the pen. Drop the pen out of your hand,” an officer yells at Angilau after he has been shot. Angilau (pictured) is no longer visible at that point. He is behind the witness stand.

The Utah Media Coalition fought for a year for Dowdell to release the footage, according to KUTV in Salt Lake City. Audio of the shooting was released previously.

U.S. District Judge John Dowdell, the judge who released the footage, dismissed a lawsuit from the Angilau family. It claimed

Thousands Call For Judge’s Removal After Blind Man Who Raped 13-Year-Old Gets No Jail Time

Benjamin Lawrence Petty received only probation after arranging a plea-deal pertaining to the rape of a 13-year-old girl. Now, thousands are calling for the removal of the judge who made the decision.

In June of 2016, Petty had bound his victim with rope and raped her while working as a cook at Baptist church camp. He threatened her with violence if she told anyone about the incident, according to NewsOK, the online version of the Oklahoman.

In January of 2017, Petty pleaded guilty to charges of first-degree rape, forcible sodomy and rape by instrumentation.

A judge served Petty to 15 years probation and two years with an ankle monitor. He will also be forced to register as a sex offender.

The reason for the leniency, according to Judge Wallace Coppedge, is because Petty is legally blind.

Public reaction to the sentencing was so intense that a prosecutor connected to the case, David Pyle, resigned shortly after the

Meth-Using Mother Of 7 Gets Sterilized After Federal Judge Recommendation

A mother of seven who has been battling drug addiction decided to get sterilized after a judge suggested that he might be easier on her sentencing for fraud charges if she underwent the procedure.

According to The Washington Post, 34-year-old Summer Thyme Creel, a mother from Oklahoma, pleaded guilty for making and cashing a counterfeit check last year. When Creel failed to attend her sentencing in June, US District Judge Stephen Friot looked at her pre-sentence report and noted she was a crack cocaine and methamphetamine user.

And that’s when Friot decided to make the unprecedented suggestion. In his order, Friot mentioned that Creel had given up the right to six of her seven children and that he believed she had used drugs while pregnant with her children.

Friot concluded his order by saying that at the next sentencing, “Ms. Creel may, if (and only if) she chooses to do so, present medical evidence to the court establishing

Judge Sentences Larry Nassar To 175 Years In Prison For Sexual Abuse: ‘I’ve Just Signed Your Death Warrant’

County Court Judge Rosemarie Aquilina told former USA Gymnastics physician Larry Nassar it was her “honor” and “privilege” to sentence him to 40 to 175 years in prison for sexually abusing countless women.

After announcing her sentencing, the courtroom broke out in applause.

“You do not deserve to walk outside a prison ever again,” Judge Aquilina told him. “I’ve just signed your death warrant.”

Nassar made a brief statement before being handed down his sentence.

“There are no words that can describe the depth and breadth of how sorry I am for what has occurred,” he said. “An acceptable apology to all of you is impossible to write and convey. I will carry your words with me for the rest of my days.”

Judge Aquilina told Nassar that he knew he had a problem and didn’t seek treatment.

“You could have gone anywhere in the world to be treated. Any resort, any doctor. In Europe they have hidden places for
