Exclusive: Jupiter Entertainment ups Steven McGovern to VP, production

Unscripted television producer Jupiter Entertainment has elevated veteran producer Steven McGovern to vice president of production.

In his expanded role, McGovern will manage daily operations, including budgeting and scheduling across all Jupiter projects. He currently oversees a production slate of programs that includes Oxygen’s Snapped and Killer Couples; Investigation Discovery’s Murder Chose Me, Homicide Hunter and Murder Calls; and TV One’s Fatal Attraction.

McGovern will continue to work out of the company’s New York offices and reports directly to Robert Twilley, SVP and GM of Jupiter. Previously, he was the prodco’s director of production.

McGovern has more than 20 years of experience in the television industry, having previously produced and managed production for hundreds of series, specials and pilots, including HGTV franchises House Hunters International and House Hunters Renovation.

Throughout his career, McGovern has held senior posts at Leopard USA, ITV Studios, Studio Lambert, and multiple networks

Detectives Say Brad McGarry’s Murder Could ‘Possibly’ Be A Hate Crime (EXCLUSIVE)

Detectives in Belmont County, OH had their work cut out for them. In May 2017, a local coal miner named Brad McGarry was found shot dead in the basement of his home and there was little evidence to point local law enforcement in the right direction. Now, in a sneak peek for Episode 3 of Oxygen’s Criminal Confessions, one of Brad’s friends revealed why she thinks Brad’s death was possibly a hate crime. Watch our exclusive Criminal Confessions sneak peek above and don’t forget to subscribe to our YouTube Channel.

In the footage from the questioning, a detective asked Brad’s friend if anyone would have a motive to kill him. “There’s no reason,” the friend said. “If this is not a hate crime…I mean, I don’t know.”

Detective Sergeant Doug Cruse, of the Belmont County Sheriff’s Office, explained that the Belmont County community is a very religious and conservative community.

What does it take to make a hesitant criminal confess to a crime? The second season of Criminal Confessions will premiere on Oxygen October 6 and bring viewers inside interrogation rooms across America. The true crime show, produced by Dick Wolf, highlights interrogation tactics used to make even the most stubborn criminals confess in jaw-dropping admittance.

Wolf explained the second season will follow closely in the footsteps of the first, though will focus heavily on the psychology behind confessions and interview tactics. “We are continuing to give viewers an inside look into the investigation of criminals, with an emphasis on the psychological component of confessions,” said Wolf in a press release. “This gives crime buffs insight into a side of police work that has never been examined before.”
