Syfy’s 2018 ‘Twilight Zone’ New Year’s Marathon: The Complete Episode Lineup

There is plenty of understandable excitement ahead of Jordan Peele’s reboot of the classic sci-fi/fantasy anthology series The Twilight Zone, which is heading to CBS All Access in 2019.

While previous attempts at reviving this iconic franchise have not been very successful, Peele’s looks a lot more promising since it is clear through his work — particularly in a film like Get Out — that the writer/producer/director not only has a firm and respectful sense of the original series’ twisty, often nightmarish scenarios and storytelling, but also really understands the humanity and sense of social justice that creator Rod Serling wove into his stories to make them as thought-provoking as they were thrilling.

Wholaver case subject of TV true crime network episode

By Dan Miller, danmiller@pressandjournal.com

Sixteen years ago perhaps the most notorious crime in Middletown history took place, when Ernest R. Wholaver Jr. killed his wife Jean and the couple’s two daughters, Victoria and Elizabeth, inside their home in the borough on Christmas Eve 2002.

Now, the Wholaver slaying is the subject of a recent episode aired by the true crime TV network Oxygen.

The episode entitled “Silent Night, Lethal Night,” aired Dec. 16 as part of the Oxygen series “Homicide for the Holidays.” The episode can still be viewed by going to the Oxygen website.

The episode includes excerpts of an interview with Dauphin County District Attorney Fran Chardo, who prosecuted the case against Wholaver back in 2004. Also appearing in the piece is former Middletown police Detective David Sweitzer, who has received awards recognizing his work investigating the Wholaver case.

Wholaver, now 58, in 2004 was sentenced to death three times after being convicted

How About That ‘Arrow’ Twist?! Breaking Down the Big Reveal & Maya’s First Episode

[Warning: The below contains MAJOR spoilers for the Season 7, Episode 8 of Arrow, “Unmasked.”]

The new Green Arrow is… a she?!

Yeah, that was actually becoming sort of expected, since the hooded vigilante who had taken over in Oliver’s stead seemed to be more balletic and fluid in action than our previously scheduled bow-hunk. I mean, the pointed toes? The delicate body rolls? Plus, given the recent rise of girl power on the show, it makes total sense that the latest iteration of the Emerald Archer be a woman.

But damn, that last-minute twist was rich!

In the final seconds of “Unmasked,” the aforementioned femme fatale (Sea Shimooka) was seen on the grounds of the burnt-out Queen Mansion addressing the grave of her “dad,” saying that Oliver (Stephen Amell) was “more like you than I thought… and more like me, too.” Pan around to reveal that the headstone is that of the
