Cable Show Snapped To Feature Round Rock Murder

ROUND ROCK, TX — The cable show “Snapped” on the Oxygen network will feature the 2015 murder of a Round Rock car lot general manager killed by his wife.

Nancy Khan, 36, was convicted of murder in the shooting death of Ali Khan, 34, last year after having pleaded guilty. She was handed a 40-year sentence.

Khan had lived in Round Rock since 1993, was a graduate of McNeil High School and was a general manager at Southwest Kia in Round Rock at time of his death, according to reports. An acquaintance of Khan’s had gone to the couple’s home to search for Khan after he failed to show up to work two days in a row when the man’s body was found on the bathroom floor in the master bedroom of the couple’s home.

Cable Channel to Roll Out Its Third Dick Wolf Series

Dick Wolf isn’t just keeping NBC supplied with TV programming, the prolific producer behind NBC’s “Chicago” drama franchise has also been busy pipelining true crime programming to Oxygen Media.

Oxygen announced its rollout plans today for its third Dick Wolf program, “Murder for Hire,” which will premiere Sunday, April 7, at 7 p.m. ET/PT. The series follows Oxygen’s Dick Wolf series “Cold Justice” and “Criminal Confessions.”

The program comes from executive producer Wolf and Shed Media.

Oxygen says the series “gives an exclusive look into the dark world of contract killings, showcasing some of the most fascinating murder for hire cases ever caught on tape. 2018’s Fastest-Growing Cable Entertainment Network Posts Two Years of Double-Digit Growth

The cable network that will finish 2018 as the fastest-growing cable entertainment network in prime time will post double-digit growth for the second consecutive year. That network is Oxygen, which is poised to post 15% growth year over year.

Oxygen says it has had 27 consecutive months of year-over-year growth in total viewers in total day, adding: “Every month in 2018 has been Oxygen’s best month in at least 5 years.”

The network’s ratings momentum spans a variety of its true-crime programs, including event series, investigation series and self-contained series.

“Event series ‘Aaron Hernandez Uncovered’ was Oxygen’s highest-rated true-crime program in network history with 487K P18-49 and 1.05 Million total viewers,” Oxygen said. “Investigation series ‘Unspeakable Crime: The Killing of Jessica Chambers’ was Oxygen’s highest-rated weekly premiering series since the true crime rebrand among P18-49 and F25-54.”

‘Criminal Confessions’ Back on Oxygen Oct. 6 – Broadcasting & Cable

Criminal Confessions, a look at police interrogations “with detectives who will stop at nothing until they find justice,” according to Oxygen, will be back on the network Saturday, Oct. 6. Dick Wolf executive produces. The series is to begin its second season.

Each episode shows the strategies and tactics law enforcement uses to find the truth from suspects.

“We are continuing to give viewers an inside look into the investigation of criminals, with an emphasis on the psychological component of confessions,” said Wolf. “This gives crime buffs insight into a side of police work that has never been examined before.”

Chelsea’s story to be told on Oxygen cable channel

The hour-long show follows the case and trail of Daniel Clay who convicted this summer of murdering the Maybee woman and is serving a sentence of life in prison.

Oxygen Network, a cable television program aimed at women, is airing its version of the Chelsea Bruck story this weekend.

The Bruck case will be shown on Oxygen’s “Snapped” Sunday. Scheduled times include 1:30 a.m., a repeat immediately following and again at 5 p.m.

The hour-long show follows the case and trail of Daniel Clay who convicted this summer of murdering the Maybee woman and is serving a sentence of life in prison.

NBC’s “Dateline” focused on the murder and trial during its Oct. 27 episode.

TCA17: Cable Nets to Deliver More Arresting True-Crime Shows

Beverly Hills–A handful of cable networks held court with TV writers through the presentation of several true-crime-themed shows during the cable portion of the Television Critics Association summer press tour last week.

Networks showcased new scripted shows or documentaries that ressurected high-profile, sensational crimes ranging from the 1970s hunt for New York City serial killer David Berkowitz (Investigation Discovery’s Son of Sam: The Hunt For A Killer) to the 2002 abduction of teenager Elizabeth Smart (Lifetime’s original movie I Am Elizabeth Smart).
