TV picks for Oct. 24: ‘Super Cats,’ ‘American Humane Hero Dog Awards,’ ‘Wanderlust’

Hello, kitty

In a gentler world, “Super Cats” would take you behind the scenes of that cute kitty playing piano on YouTube. Instead, this “Nature” miniseries is the latest documentary to use high-tech cameras to capture predators tracking down their prey in the wild. F. Murray Abraham, who won an Oscar for playing Mozart’s tormentor in “Amadeus,” seems a little too delighted to narrate the action.

7 p.m., TPT, Ch. 2

Going to the dogs

If you’re more of a dog person, check out “The American Humane Hero Dog Awards,” hosted by Beth Stern and James Denton, the Chanhassen resident who probably still gets recognized for his role in “Desperate Housewives.” Human presenters include Danielle Fishel, Carrie Ann Inaba, Naomi Judd and Denise Richards.

7 p.m., Hallmark Channel

TV picks for Sept. 9-13: ‘American Horror Story, ‘Kidding,’ ‘You’

There goes the neighborhood

Jim Carrey plays a creepy Mr. Rogers-like character in “Kidding,” his first TV series in two decades. Watching a seemingly nice guy slowly fall apart — divorce, the death of a child and working with puppets will do that to you — is a process we’ve seen many times on TV. What does feel new is Frank Langella as a father/executive producer who firmly believes ratings are thicker than blood. Michel Gondry, who teamed up with Carrey on 2004’s “Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind,” directed the first two episodes.

9 p.m. Sun., Showtime

It had to be you

“You” opens with a meet-cute moment between a brainy bookstore employee and a flirtatious customer, setting viewers up for a romantic ride. One problem: The book dude is actually a sadistic stalker whose idea of courtship is hacking into his dream lover’s computer and terrorizing her

Trial Begins For Danish Submariner Accused Of Dismembering American Journalist

Peter Madsen, a Danish inventor and submariner, has been accused of killing and dismembering American journalist Kim Wall after parts of her body were discovered in Koge Bay. Now, after changing his version of the events that lead to the death numerous times, the trial for Madsen has begun.

Wall, a prolific journalist who had written for The New York Times, Harper’s and The Atlantic, had been interviewing Madsen on assignment. She went missing on August 10, 2017. On Aug 21, her torso was discovered, thus initiating a search for more evidence in her death.

Madsen had originally claimed he Wall had safely left his submarine. He later changed his story and said that Wall had died from an accidental blow to the head aboard the vessel. Eventually, he admitted to having a part in her death, saying that he dismembered her in a state of “suicidal psychosis” before sinking his

Andrew Cunanan’s Gold Digging Leads Down A Dangerous Path in ‘American Crime Story: Versace’ (Ep 6)

Episode 6 of “American Crime Story: Versace” picks up in California in 1996, a year before Andrew Cunanan’s murder spree began. Cunanan found himself in some kind of luxury abode, wrapping presents from Tiffany’s and toting bags from Saks Fifth Avenue. Some lines of cocaine are conspicuously apparent on a nearby table.

Cunanan obviously shacked up with some rich older man while “employed” as his “interior decorator.” He wonders aloud to a friend, Lizzie, about a certain blonde paramour, obviously referring to David Madson.

“Who are you trying to be?” asks Lizzie, unsure of what she’s witnessing.

Moments later Trail arrives at the party. Cunanan gifts Trail some expensive clothes in the hopes of making him look more high class in front of his new crush. Cunanan instructs Trail to lie and say he’s still in the Navy. Trail refuses.

When Madson arrives, Andrew finds himself caught in a

‘American Crime Story’ Versace Ep. 3 Explores The Secret Gay Lives Of Cunanan’s Victims

Episode three starts in May of 1997, a perfume salesperson on a home shopping network anxiously calls her husband from the airport. Crime aficionados will have recognized that her last name is shared with one of Cunanan’s victims. She comes home to find melted ice cream on the kitchen table and an otherwise empty and undisturbed house. A neighbor investigates while the police are called.

A scream.

“I knew it.”

One week earlier in Chicago. Marilyn Miglin is giving some form of motivational speech and notes that “so often we are told that the American dream is dead,” while espousing some boot-strap rhetoric about hard work and success. She describes Lee as “the perfect husband.”

Murphy, once again without subtlety, is making a statement on gay life before the current social movement we find ourselves in: when good, kind people had to keep their sexualities hidden and sublimate

Gianni Versace’s Partner Says ‘American Crime Story’ Is ‘Fictitious’

The longtime partner of Gianni Versace is coming out against his portrayal in the crime drama American Crime Story. According to People, Antonio D’Amico finds significant parts of the TV series to be inaccurate, including his relationship with the fashion designer.

“Significant parts of the [series] on Gianni Versace’s murder do not reflect the reality of the events that took place,” says D’Amico. “I feel — together with those who know me well — that my character … is a misrepresentation of myself and what our relationship was like.” In the series, Gianni wants a family and D’Amico stops him because of his own playboy lifestyle. “Neither Gianni nor I were looking to get married or to have children,” he says. “All we wanted was to live our relationship in the open — as we did. We were more than happy to have the nieces and nephews that we had and were not
