Soledad O’Brien investigates Turpin family in Oxygen crime special

NBC Universal-owned, crime-focused network Oxygen Media has partnered with acclaimed journalist Soledad O’Brien to investigate the story of the Turpin family in a two-hour television event.

Produced by ITN Productions, The Turpin 13: Family Secrets Exposed will provide a comprehensive look into David and Louise Turpin, who have been charged with multiple counts of child abuse after allegedly imprisoning, shackling, beating and strangling their 13 children for years in their Perris, California home. The victims ranged in age from two to 29-years-old.

O’Brien, who serves as host and executive producer, will retrace the family’s 30-year journey across America, from West Virginia to Texas and California, in hopes of determining how far back the family’s secrets go while also revealing how the alleged abuse was kept hidden for so long.

The special will feature interviews with Louise’s sister Teresa Robinette, half-brother Billy Lambert and past neighbors of the Turpin family, as well as with experts in child
