A man from Northern California has credited God for coming forward and admitting to taking part in a 1993 murder. During a television interview with KRCR, Brian Hawkins confessed to being one of the culprits behind the cold case stabbing death of 19-year-old Frank Wesley McAlister.
Hawkins, 44, made an emotional plea during the televised interview after walking into the Redding station to confess.
“Every minute of every day has been a nightmare. It’s kind of weird, Frank never got to have a life, but we were teenagers and now I’m 44 and still haven’t even had a life and now most likely won’t anyway,” he revealed, adding that he was consumed with remorse.
After the interview, he gave detailed statements about the killing to police.
“I’m going to turn myself in next door at the sheriff’s department for a crime I was involved in years ago. […] It was murder,” Hawkins told
