Preacher Season 1 Episode 4 recap: The Hole Truth

Preacher AMC Emily Jesse Lewis Jacobs/Sony Pictures Television/AMC
Preacher — Dominic Cooper as Jesse Custer, Lucy Griffiths as Emily

Bless you for your return, Preacher fans! Each week is full of surprises, and this episode is especially fun. It showcases many little tidbits of importantness, and it’s so hysterical, it damn near caused death by spaghetti. Preacher trumps sliced bread, rolled oats and all the other “best things since.” You with me, or do I need a life? (I appreciate all comments, BTW … even if they make me question my humanity … see last week’s comments.)

It starts with the school bus prowling about. Maybe Jesse needs to think things through a little more before willing them to happen. He told Tracy to open her eyes, but that’s all she did. He told Linus to forget about Janey, but what about the other kiddies?

Whoopi Goldberg’s message: ‘We’ve grown up together’ – San Antonio Express

Whoopi Goldberg courts the cutting edge, the funny and the controversial. Sometimes all in the same breath, whether on her high-profile daytime gig on “The View” or onstage.

“You never know what you’re gonna get when you walk out on the stage,” said Goldberg, who performs June 24 at the Majestic Theatre.

“You think you’re going some place where people really dig what you do and suddenly you discover, ‘Ooh, y’all are not having me. You’re not feeling it,’“ she said. “It’s gotten very strange since I joined the show. People feel they need to tell me how they feel. So they may figure they want to yell (expletive).”

She goes with the flow and “just talks about life.” For example, cautioning folks about sharing too much on social media.

“There’s a big difference between how I was raised and how folks are raised now,” she said. “I talk a lot about that.

Oxygen’s other friend-related offering, The Battle of the Ex Besties, tackles the other side of the coin – the ex-best friend.
